Under-playing the whole incident because Kohli is generally obnoxious on the field is also beyond my comprehension. I know how the whole ICF will go up in their arms if the same had happened to someone like Sachin or Dravid. SUre reaction would have been different from players. But that is not the point here. Reaction from fans will be different here.

the crowds will obviously react differently to Dravid or Kumble or VVS etc because these guys didn't abuse the crowd every time they took a catch at the boundary. They were never seen fighting with their own national teammates. Kohli may think of himself as very cool but the reality is that most crowds in the country don't exactly like his attitude - the Mumbai crowd chose to show its feelings so people are getting p!ssed off. This guy is called a potential captain - its high time he learns how to behave.

Raina has been known to do something like this very rarely. Kohli has been doing it in all formats since he made his debut.

I am no fan of Kohli's attitude, but have to say that Mumbai has the worst crowd in India. I went to an IPL game in 2008 there, they booed every opposition player including Ganguly or even Ajit Agarkar. It's a good thing to be passionate but jingoism is not cool.

From my personal experience I doubt that. They have a history of booing Ganguly, Yuvraj, Dhoni and wait Tendulkar too.

and that is exactly why Sachin is considered a role model for all cricketers because he knows how to channel his aggression (on the field with the bat). He doesn't respond to each barb or insanity hurled at him by the crowd, media, etc. Virat needs to seriously improve his behaviour as this type of idiotic behaviour is giving Indian cricket a bad name. If anyone talks about aggression then no one comes close to Ganguly in Indian cricket and he perfected the art of how to channel aggression appropriately. These new paplus need to watch ganguly as a leader and learn if they harbour hopes of leading India

Not everyone can be a sachin or dravid, nor should we expect them to be. I like the fiery ones as well. Need them in a succesful team as well

It actually it shouldn't really bother whether it is fake or not. My beef is that Kohli plans to dish it out but turns into a loser when he gets it back.

You lost two matches in a row against 2 teams that have two of the finest gentlemen the game of cricket has ever seen, Sachin and Dravid. But more than the loss, I think it was the crowd booing you that bothered you. You felt that the crowd should be aware that you first play for India and the crowd should always remember that. Respect my friend is not demanded, it's earned. It's fine to show aggression, but not in words and actions, simply show it in your game. Remember what Hayden told about Dravid and aggression? Have you ever seen a Sachin or a Dravid getting booed in any match. In fact Dravid gets cheered more than your entire team in your home game. It's like the crowd suddenly forgets that it's an IPL match and has just come to watch Dravid play, same with Sachin in any part of the country. In fact these are the kinda players, add Laxman to that list, who get standing ovations when they come in to bat even outside India, which I think you can only dream of. You abuse when you get out, you abuse when you score a century. There's arrogance, ego and all that which nobody likes and you want everyone to love you? Let's go back to what happened? Ganguly was given run out by the umpire (whose job it was according to you), and it wasn't IPL. It was an international match and Cronje revoked the decision and asked Ganguly to bat. Now Rayudu was your countryman, how hard was it for you to do it? In any case, it's not like you wake up one fine day and decide to behave like Sachin or Dravid. It takes years to build that kinda character. How you grow up, your friends, your team mates, all these things influence you, but then it's you who decide what good you get influenced with and what bad you avoid. Being surrounded by team mates like Srinath, Prasad and Kumble at the state level and then Sachin, Laxman, Sehwag at the national level, you would expect humility and modesty from someone like Dravid and obviously the others in the list. You can't blame yourself to be in the company of Gambhir in your younger days whom you just had a spat with about a week back. Do you remember the Dravid Slater incident? Everyone had a hearty laugh at that time, didn't you? And where were all these same people when Kohli's wicket was celebrated by the Delhi crowd, yeah Kohli's own home crowd, in the recent test match against Australia? As I said earlier, all Mumbai haters just got a chance to vent out their frustrations :cantstop:
