vvvslaxman Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Bowl short and wide. Even a skunt like Faillard will hit you :idunno: What if the batsmen don't want to hit you :cantstop:
Zelig Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 What if the batsmen don't want to hit you :cantstop: Bowl a really big wide the next bowl and hope the WK doesn't try to be a hero and prevent the boundary four. :om: If the bowlers wants to go for runs, nothing can stop him. Pawar to the bowlers union :isalute:
someone Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 If the bowlers wants to go for runs, nothing can stop him. Pawar to the bowlers union :isalute: As long you do not bowl wide or no-balls, there is absolutely no guarantee that you will give away runs. You might be the worst bowler in the world, but you can still go for little runs. It's the batsman who decides what he wants to score each delivery. Thus, the assumptions made by the police and fans here on the bowlers really is confusing.

It's really not that difficult to concede runs in this format when you put your mind and will to it :om: Remember it's the minimum # of runs and not a fixed one.

For Dinda you can have minimum of 18 .. he could still achieve that with ridiculous ease.

You clearly have not watched much cricket. This format is one where everything is unpredictable. The best bowlers can go for huge runs while some new bowlers can go for little runs. To even think that bowlers can simply give away runs by just bowling poor is a bad logic. Remember you need the batting abilities more to score the runs.
CSK Fan Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Y To even think that bowlers can simply give away runs by just bowling poor is a bad logic. Remember you need the batting abilities more to score the runs. You give a long hop or a full toss and any batsman worth his salt will score runs. Nothing to do with any unpredictabilty
vvvslaxman Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 You give a long hop or a full toss and any batsman worth his salt will score runs. Nothing to do with any unpredictabilty Dhoni can't hit full tosses :hmmm: It depends on the strength of batsman. But he could still lose shape while executing it. I don't think there are strict rules about fixing things like this. They do give some leeway i think.

Thus, the assumptions made by the police and fans here on the bowlers really is confusing. Err, the batsman decides? You mean when he sees a long hop or a half volley he will decide whether to hit or not? How many bad balls like half-volleys, full tosses or long hops have gone unpunished in this IPL? There is no assumption here. Also talking about no-balls and wides, am sure the bowlers would have tried that too if till the last ball the batsmen hadn't scored the required runs BTW, go through this transcript with bookies vs the players http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/spot-fixing-in-ipl-excerpts-of-conversations-between-rajasthan-royals-players-bookies-367846?pfrom=home-lateststories There was no batsman involved
RedFever Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 what if the captain decides to bowl you (say Chavan) in the overs between 7-14 which is normally when then batting team doesnt score much ?
bulbul Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Its difficult to give exact number of runs, but you can certainly try to exceed the number.

I don't think there are strict rules about fixing things like this. They do give some leeway i think. Dhoni has hit some towering sixes off full tosses. Full tosses can be hit for boundaries easily in the first 6 overs, doesn't have to go for sixes. What about half volleys and long hops or bowling on the leg with field up (like Chandila did)

Also talking about no-balls and wides, am sure the bowlers would have tried that too if till the last ball the batsmen hadn't scored the required runs Lol, what exactly is bad balls? You are just using some hindsight to show that the hits are off bad bowling. You do realize that full tosses can be good bowling as well. It's the result which decide if the bowl is good or bad. So to even say that as player X bowled poorly and that's why gave runs, is not very correct. As it depends on a lot more complex factors such as field placements, match situation, batsman mindset, luck, pitch etc. As I watch yesterday's match, Chavan did nothing differently in both his overs, it was just the 2nd over, the batsman had decided to target him aggressively.

He bowled a more leg side line and his flight was also more profound with him not turning the ball much with his fingers
someone Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 He bowled a more leg side line and his flight was also more profound with him not turning the ball much with his fingers Hindsight. If your logic is used, let's just stop the game itself as every bowler has bad overs.

So there is no guarantee he will capitalize on your deliberately bowled bad balls. I don't say they didn't fix it. I just think there is some leeway.

Remember the police knew beforehand this would happen and they came in person to watch it live Isn't that a bit of hopeful case then? Making some lucky connections? The police needs to gather/show better evidence. Who knows the police were wrong several times in their information and the one time, they got correct, they just arrested them. Thus, the so much delay in their arrest.
Stuge Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 There are lot of loopholes in Delhi Police so called evidence .without any money transaction nothing can be proved .
