Keeping mouth shut is not really an option. People expect answers from leaders and whether we like it or not the media does represent the people. Fans can't take a mike and go to a press conference and ask questions.

People want and except results not answers. We need the investigation done well and completed. And every person being either top or low level getting convicted. And remember Dhoni is not giving answers but opinions which is not needed. Dhoni doesn't have the right to interfere against a pending investigation and is not at all directly involved. As seen from this thread, Dhoni is getting blamed unnecessarily. Mixing politics into this is not good, cricketers should only focus on the field issues really.

If he had been allowed to answer freely, I believe he is smart enough to give the right answers, just enough to keep the media happy. Yes some questions would have been difficult like why was your wife sitting with Vindoo etc and even there he could have given honest answers like he was just a friend and no one expected that he was involved in such activities.

For how long is he going to remain silent? 2 warm up games and at least 3 league games. 2 mandatory PCs for each match, thats a minimum of 10 interviews he will have to attend. Can't get away every time saying I will answer it at an appropriate time. Plus all those Indian mediawallahs in England will have to justify their phoren trip to the bosses by getting them the headlines they need. Any further silence will only see them concoct stories of their own and indulging in wild speculations. That will be far more damaging than remaining silent. With that joker as a manager who kept saying 'next question please', it will only cause further damage. I hope it is results and thus it's better to wait for the investigation to be more concrete. There are many ex-cricketers in our country who are very opinionated about this today but they themselves have been accused of similar cheating.
