beetle Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 THE lawyer of Pawankumar Gahalon, the arrested accused in the Bandra Terminus acid attack, has said he would approach Bombay High Court as he was "unhappy" that his client was remanded in judicial custody on Thursday. R K Singh has also alleged that the police picked up Gahalon despite knowing that he was in his home in Rohtak, Haryana on the day of the attack. Gahalon, 24 a final year B.Tech student, was picked up from his Rohtak home on May 8, six days after a masked man hurled acid at Delhi nursing student Preeti Rathi minutes after she had alighted from the Garib Rath. Police picked up Gahalon after Preeti allegedly told them that she had seen Gahalon at Nizamuddin railway station, Delhi, on the day she left from there. Gahalon, police said, bears a resemblance to the man shown fleeing the station in the CCTV footage of Bandra Terminus. Singh claimed police have no grounds to hold him. "Police have said on the day of the attack, Gahalon's phone location was Rohtak. beetle Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Accused in Bandra acid attack case nabbed Friday, May 10, 2013 By Zuber Ansari Within a week, the city Government Reserve Police (GRP) succeeded in apprehending two persons allegedly involved in the horrific Bandra acid attack case. The prime accused Pawan Kumar Azadsingh Gehlot, in his confession to the police revealed that the girl had rejected his marriage proposal and hence he committed the crime. Gehlot and his colleague, Satyam, were nabbed in their home town in Rohtak in Haryana and brought to Mumbai by the special crime branch team yesterday. Gehlot has confessed that he had been wooing the victim to marry him since a long time but she never agrred to his proposal which hurt his sentiments. Hence, when he learnt that she was going to stay and work in Mumbai he, along with his friend planned the acid attack on her. Victim Preeti Rathi came first time to Mumbai to join duty as a nurse in the Army Medical College in Colaba and was brutally attack by Pawan who threw acid on her face at Bandra Terminus, Platform No. 3.
