G_B_ Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 Fairfax Media understands that the altercation, which took place at about 2am on Sunday following Australia’s Champions Trophy defeat to England at Edgbaston, included Warner flashing a ‘‘glancing blow’’ which struck Root on the chin. It is believed that alcohol was a factor. Root was understood to be at the venue in the early hours of Sunday morning with England teammates Steve Finn and Stuart Broad. Australia are playing New Zealand in Birmingham in their second Champions Trophy match on Wednesday night, a game from which Warner has been stood down.
