Doc, a question: Just from this calendar year, can you give me a list of limited overs (ODIs or T20s) games against higher quality opposition (test teams minus Zim/Bang) that Afridi has played in with performances *key* to Pakistan's victory?

Strange! Some of the opinions have changed in only 2 months, that is quite weird because PAK haven't played an ODI since May and have only played 1 20-20 competition where incidently Afridi was the man of the series.:omg_smile:

MP, my comments were purely cricket..I don't see him as a great bowler. If you ask me, even hafeez can get lotta succes if he starts bowling a lot

A few years ago i was arguing against that allrounders with less than a specialist's ability are a limiting factor. In the beginning afridi's bowling was not good enough. but i think in recent years he has acquired enough skills to pass off in a bowler's position. but in batting position, he is still a limiting factor because a specialist batsman can be much more consistent than him.

i think this is best for the indian cricket that we are missing a character like afridi... i wouldn't be able to tolerate his antics... chucking (sometimes... especially when angry), foul mouth, pitch scruffing, hitting spectators and fighting in dressing rooms. (he had two altercations i think so far..once with Inzi and the second one allegedly with actor)... for measely returns

Afridi has played international cricket for about 12 years and you guys can barely quote his match winning credentials about what 3-5 times. Pick any domestic cricketer and play him for 12 years of international cricket he will produce such stats. Do you guys mind posting his career stats in both ODI and test cricket?

Afridi is a great entertainer of the game so is Sehwag. Both haven't contributed much to the success of their team agree or not?

As a bowling allrounder - I will take Afridi in my team. Definitely a great contributor. As a pure batsman, probably not. But definitely as a bowling allrounder. Decent fielder.

As a spinner, he is quite useful, and as a bowling allrounder - his batting is acceptable. Only if you think of him as needing to make it into the 11 as a batsman, then yes, he will not get in as a proper batsman.
