someone Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Being fans is about loyalty. Particularly if you have supported a team from childhood, birth, so it does not look good to support another rival team in later years.
Sooda Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Tell these a-holes that forget about your britishness, how Indian are these guys ? Their 'national dish' is Chiken Tikka masala- which is 'change 1-2 ingredients of a standard Indian dish and claim it as your own'. Its okay, since our food is delicious enough to be poached by others. Nobody is poaching kidney pies and haggis from them. Their wealth is based on financial prowess of London, which is possible because some Indian dude invented the decimal system. Otherwise the stupid way the Euros did their arithmetic, we'd be sitting here till 2050 to generate basic unemployment data. So next time, ask them how Indian they feel if they ask you how british do you feel. Ah, no its the English folks that question my Britishness ! I have only ever encountered ONE person of Indian origin who supports England when they play India. Its rare.
Crookbond Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 The last generation of their family was from England. They're English. Also Graeme Smith is English. Smith is as English a name as you can get. SA poached him from us and if he'd had been playing for us we'd dominate cricket for years. SA are only the best test nation because of his captaincy. Nasser Hussan is an Indian then. :phehehe:

By same logic Bopara is Indian and if it wasn't for him, pommies would have been humiliated in the finals. :finger:

They dislike the English cricket team yet they'll support England at football and cheer on the British at the Olympics. It's picking and choosing.
special K Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Bopara, Monty etc... could all have played for India. I don't see a problem with it.
Captain of Bhangra Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Just remembered, I was at this T20 match 2 years ago: http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/474476.html In that match, Bopara and Patel were batting together at the end. I saw them get a fair bit of grief from the Indian fans, but nobody seemed to care then. Probably because India had bigger problems to worry about, and England won...
Captain of Bhangra Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I was also at this one in 2007: http://www.espncricinfo.com/engvind/engine/match/258473.html Monty Panesar had to be moved by Paul Collingwood because of the flak he took from the boundary. The abuse that day was fiercer than in the final. Ian Bell said at the end that his MotM award was all the more sweeter because it had been like an away game. Again, not much was made of this, probably because England won...

They are England or England + SA or UK by convenience.
Crookbond Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Bopara' date=' Monty etc... could all have played for India. I don't see a problem with it.[/quote'] Except that they wouldn't even make the second XI.
Captain of Bhangra Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Britishers themselves have double standards. They are England or England + SA or UK by convenience. Especially the English. They hate the Scots, yet will spend the entirety of Wimbledon cheering for the British Andy Murray. If he doesn't win, he's Scottish again...

If he doesn't win, he's Scottish again...[/quote'] Some of us don't like want him to win. I wanted Federer to beat him last year. His anyone but England comment didn't go down to well with a lot of English people. Tennis is an individual sport anyway, I used to always want Sampras to beat Henman
special K Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Except that they wouldn't even make the second XI. Monty would be your best spinner.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 the charge of 'failing to integrate' is levelled at the dole scrounging pakis, not the indians. its very strange how the pakis keep hiding behind the label of 'asians' when it comes to these situations, even tho they arent worth a **** compared to indians. the english people and even groups such as the EDL and BNP haven't got any issues with indians, but they (like everyone else) hate these disgusting, council estate dwelling, asylum seeking, dole scrounging, terrorist paki wasters. who can blame them? there wouldn't be a NEED for stuff like a 'tebbit test' if there weren't any paki wasters. we need to make this distinction when we talk about these issues
Crookbond Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Monty would be your best spinner. Monty would be playing for Punjab and India-KXP would be his fan on ICF; as bad as the former sounds the latter is a worse.

Pakistanis do stand behind Asians as a label whereas Indians don't like it as there are a fringe of Pakistanis that are making life difficult for ethnic minorities through silly behaviours. However: I work hard in.a decent job, my dad worked his heart and soul until 4 years ago when my mum was diagnosed with cancer to look after her. He worked for around 40 years. He looked after his parents financially in Pakistan and his kids here in England- where we have done somethin positive due to their hard work (parents). My dad speaks great English. My mother spoke better English than me despite no formal education. She was admired by Pakistani, Indian and white English people all the same- very highly.im not a terrorist. Edl have some good points but I don't think it's solely because of Pakistanis. What rubbish are you speaking about Tebbit test? It's about people supportin India AND Pakistan who are British-born. Be objective and stop leyton your hatred (which I don't understand personally) get in the way of this topic.
special K Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Monty would be playing for Punjab and India-KXP would be his fan on ICF; as bad as the former sounds the latter is a worse. He's get into your team and Bopara would be you 2nd best batsmen after Dharwan.
Crookbond Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 He's get into your team and Bopara would be you 2nd best batsmen after Dharwan. You's also a Paki. :hahaha: Bopara wouldn't even make the Punjab XI. :phehehe:
hassan_113 Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I despise the term “Asian”... Because you don't like being associated with Pakistanis I assume? I know that's an opinion amongst Indians and Pakistanis like "Asian" for the opposite reason lol.
