kubrickian Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 He averages a mammoth 60+ in First Class cricket and has been piling these runs for years now. He has done more than what's required to be selected for tests and it baffles me how this guy hasnt been selected for tests over the likes of Yuvraj, Raina who are basically limited over batsmen. His game is more suited for the longer version. Its absurd that selectors think performance in ODIs is important to get selected for tests. If that's the criteria, Sunil Gavaskar and Laxman should have never played tests. This is the mentality which has resulted in not finding a proper No.6 batsman after Ganguly. He must have played tests for a couple of years by now, just like Kohli but he hasnt made his test debut yet. He has shown in Champions Trophy and in this tri series, he has the technique to do well in tough conditions and temperament to hang on and score runs. He has been consistent after moving up the order and giving the team steady starts. What else do selectors want ?
Forever Indian Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 He will be given chance soon, maybe even in SA.
