English just love sport. Going to a sports game is like an event for them, plus they can get drunk, which they would be doing anyway in a pub on same day. Wether its rugby, cricket, football or olymipcs. They will turn out in masses and travel across the world to watch. This ground in mottingham has capacity of only 15,000. But am sure if it was 40,000 would fill it with ease

I think England are the only set of fans who travel all across the world to watch England play cricket - Barmy Army.

English fans travel to see some sun and warm weather - Asia, Australia, SA, Carribean - away from cold depressing weather :--D

Its fair to say England do have the most travelling fans. That will change as more and more Indians travel abroad for the cricket. Especially places like London many Indian fans will mix travelling packages of London with cricket. In the recent T20 world cup i saw plenty of Indian fans at the ground in SL for India's matches. In the recent tri series there were plenty of Americans (Or NRI's supporting India). But most of India's overseas fans are migrant communities. Obviously England as well do have migrant communities, especially in NZ and Aus where there are plenty of recently moved English people. Same is true for the Aussies/NZ in England. What KT says is true in a sense that English people love watching sports live. Its in their culture. Wimbledon, Barclays Premiership, international cricket, etc etc. Even the rugby world cup is selling like a hot cake for 2015. There is a real desire to see sports live.

That is fair deal and good but that is NOT what IR said. Stress on the word "only".

hmm my comment was made independent of IR's comments. For the match at the Oval in the recent champions trophy there were plenty of people from India who had traveled and it was part of their package tour.
