CG Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I hear commentators world wide saying clarke is one of the best players of spin as he runs down the wicket almost every ball.I disagree His performances in india and sl are nothing astounding for him to be classed with guys like tendulkar,lara,mahela.vvs,dravid.In india he has been extremely lucky in two of his hundreds where he was clearly out in his debut test vs india against kumble and even in the last tour umpire did not give a regulation nick.I have seen him stumped numerous times as he takes huge risk by running down to defend which tells me he did not pick up the variations.
adi B Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 he is a very good player of spin in odis i think.in tests,he is good not great

One of the :nice: It's easy to praise a player to the moon when he's playing well (unless if you are Nohit Sharma).
Lord Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Pujara...who are you kidding with? :haha: He is a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way away from being compared to anyone you mentioned in that list, especially clarke. did you see his Mumbai innings, batted really well on a pitch with turn and bounce.same in Delhi Test When was the last time Clarke scored on a real turner?60 v SL in 2011:hmmm:
adi B Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 pujara is a suspect against spin, swann, patel got him out while edging the ball to leg slip, has to work on that

Lord Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Let's talk when he scores 172 (still batting) in England against Swann and the crew on a spinning track. spinning track?its a normal track
vamos_rafa Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 He certainly is the most positive batsman against spin. He always looks to attack, that too using his feet. He may misjudge the line/length at times but that does not fudge him. Also, I kinda liked Steven smith and the way he handled spin both in India and today... Is a bit in the Clarke mode.
vamos_rafa Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Let's talk when he scores 172 (still batting) in England against Swann and the crew on a spinning track. Didn't Swann and co play in the Mumbai test? :hmmm:
Lord Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Didn't Swann and co play in the Mumbai test? :hmmm: there was Monty too and that track was 10 times tougher atleast
Jersey #10 Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Didn't Swann and co play in the Mumbai test? :hmmm: there was Monty too and that track was 10 times tougher atleast *In England
vamos_rafa Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 there was Monty too and that track was 10 times tougher atleast yeah.. BTW, who's that chick in ur DP?
vamos_rafa Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 *In England Why? Does the ball swing for a spinner in England? Isn't it always tougher to play quality spinners in the SC, that too on a Mumbai kinda track, than it is in England?
