Easy win for Rafa against Dodig, was expecting tougher match but Rafa is in supreme form now. Isner lost again to Kohlschreiber. Rafa's draw just got a little easier with that, it's always awkward to play against John. Federer plays later tonight.

Good game and Kohshreiber, well what to say to him. Hats off for pulling that of under great crowd pressure. He had some argument too with Isner's camp and game was stopped. It happend twice. Off course, he had fair amount of fans but Isner was crowd favorite. He played some classy shots to stay in the 4th set and win that. Another top fighter.

Last 16 have been finalized. 9 out of top 10 make it to pre-qts. (Only DelPo looses out, courtsey spirited display by Lyetton Hewitt). Shows how stable things are in Men's tennis. Though on the other side Milas Raonic is the only one who can be termed as emerging talent. Matches for Round 4 Berdych - Wawrinka Gasquet - Raonic Hewitt - Youzhny From rest of the matches Rafa, Federer, Djoko, Murray and Ferrer should be through.

All of the top guys look in reasonably good form. It seems like Rafa's into-out FH is too strong for the lower ranked players and it will probably be way too strong for Fed as well. Djokovic's body language is a bit below what it usually is, I think he's still recovering from the RG SF loss to Nadal. Maybe a win over Nadal in the final here might be some consolation but in the truth that FO was the one he wanted. Fed as usual coasting through the earlier rounds, but difficult to see how he can up his game to beat Nadal. Murray has started off slowly in all his matches, had some up and down moments and has definitely faced the most difficulty of the top guys. He will no doubt peak next week. Very interesting week ahead, tonight's games look routine, so I'll not be staying up, but that Wawrinka vs Berdych match, wow, can't wait for it. H2H is 6-5 to Wawrinka, so very tough to call.

Federer lost at round of 16. Once again no nadal federer qf after much anticipation. Nadal too lost first set but now seems to be on his way by winning 2nd and breaking early in 3rd.
Nadal won quite comfortably in the end. It was a tough match early on. Disappointed with Federer's loss, US open really needed a Federer-Nadal match.

Disappointed with Federer's loss' date=' US open really needed a Federer-Nadal match.[/quote'] The US Open and tennis does not need anymore one sided games, had they met Nadal would have crushed him, it would even be remotely close to a contest. Federer should have retired last year with his head held high, instead he's being humiliated.

Federer is unlike many of the past greats who all either retired prematurely or right as they we were declining. Not sure what exactly he is still playing for. Doesn't look like he is winning a slam past Murray' date=' Nadal or Djokovic.[/quote'] He hasn't looked like he'll win a GS for several years, that Wimbledon win last year came as a surprise to most. It was the perfect time for him to retire instead $$$ and deals are keepinghim going. Second highest earning sportsman, about £40mill a year from sponsors all over the world. That'll come tumbling down the moment he calls it a day.

The big match of the day, well the one you'd think that will be the most entertaining, Wawrinka vs Berdych will be last on Louis Armstrong, which means I won't be able to see it. Argh!!! I wanted to see this one so badly. Seems like if the matches go to plan, they'll have caught up with the schedule and yesterday's downpurs won't have hindered things too much.

Federer isn't playing bad tennis. He's just not winning big points. People calling for his retirement need to remember he is stream rolling all opponents until round 3, 4 of every event. Yes, the others in top 10 are playing better tennis than him. But you Federer is still trying. You can't ask him to retire if he's still doing good and not able to beat the top players. He is backing himself up to come with top performance eventually. I mean who are we. Don't we all should support what he's doing for tennis? Even if we are fan of him or not, won't it be great if he comes back to reach a final and eventually win a slam or two down the line may be a year later from now or two? He will go down as a legend and the more the legends continue playing, the better it is for the public. They attract lot of crowd to tennis venues. This is a brilliant era of tennis.

Dissapointing to see Berdych out, was hoping to see him beat Murray. Stan is good enough to do so though, hope he does, needs to serve his backside off. I wonder if T-Berd vs Stan was aas good as we expected, Stans backhand must have been purring....

well wow Gasquet beats Ferrer in 5, who would have thunk it. He was two sets to love up and as always with Gasquet he threw it away and inevitable it seemed a Ferrer win, but Gasquet held on. Very nice, great fan of his wonderful to watch when in full flow. I hope he beats Rafa next!!!

Watching Rafa-Robredo QF. It is just amazing to see how good Rafa is playing at the moment. He took first set from Tommy in 22 mins at score of 6-0. He simply tormented Tommy in that set, breaking all 3 of his serves either at 0 or at 15. Tommy is struggling to put up a match.

I won't be very surprised if he has an easy win over Gasquet too. Tomorrow's match between Murray and Wawrinka should be a good one. Strange that they didn't schedule it in the night session. Djokovic will win easily against Misha.
