Lord Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Chawla in now and playing well for somerset. Looks like he has decided to come and bat at 10 to protect himself against the pacers. Is smashing the spinners around. crucial innings from Chawla. Somerset are now 27 runs in front. is he the captain?
Lord Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 ^ Then I doubt he has much say in where he bats
G_B_ Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 i am sure he told them he wants to bat lower down the order. He came in at 6 for a match and it did not work out for him. Today he came in at 10 to counter the spinners. (which he did)
G_B_ Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 Somerset have virtually sealed their place in the top division and avoided relegation. 16 points ahead of Derbyshire with 1 match to go. Only a total nightmare performance will pull them down (assuming Derbyshire win) Chawla averaging 38.5 with the bat and 26.64 with the ball. Has been crucial for Somerset with bat and ball and a very good signing. Has been the difference. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/county-championship-div1-2013/engine/records/averages/batting_bowling_by_team.html?id=7905;team=1384;type=tournament
