Executioner
90's zim had andy' date='grant, heath streak, cambell all of them were descent to good. todays nz have plenty of decent ones aus also has one world class player and good pace attack. bd is a poor team. outside sakib very poor.[/quote'] true that we would suck if it was not for sakib. The Zimboks were very successful in the 99 and 03 world cups, where they looked as if they could actually win the tournament. Sad to see the demise. Zimbabwe has a very small fanbase, which means less income from broadcasting and tickets, fewer sponsors, and the next generation wont be half as good. Link to comment
Tiger80
Good on Zimbabwe players to do this. About time. What we learnt during the recent India-Zim series was reallly disappointing. For those who don't know, Zim players had to look for rides to get to hotel. Also have to find breakfast, lunch by themselves. It's in total mess. What can you expect from bhookha nanga Zimbabwe to provide for cricket which is dominated by white players IPL if increase its team in future then earning potentials of these players could be increased Link to comment
Austin 3:!6
Umar Akmal ruled out of Zimbabwe tour following epileptic fit during Caribbean Premier League Source: http://www.dnaindia.com/sport/1875957/report-umar-akmal-ruled-out-of-zimbabwe-tour-following-epileptic-fit-during-caribbean-premier-league Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman Umar Akmal has reportedly been ruled out of his side's upcoming tour to Zimbabwe after he suffered an epileptic fit while playing for Barbados in the inaugural Caribbean Premier League (CPL). According to Sport24, Akmal has played in 16 Tests for Pakistan, scoring 1, 003 runs at an average of 35.82 and has also featured in 76 one-dayers and 45 Twenty20s. A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said that former Pakistani under-19 captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been called into the squad as Akmal's replacement, with one of Akmal's family members saying that the player was on a flight to Jamaica when he had his epileptic fit. Meanwhile, the report said that Test opener Imran Farhat has also withdrawn from the squad, citing domestic problems, and will be replaced by the uncapped Shan Masood. Pakistan will play two tests, three one-dayers and two Twenty20s in Zimbabwe, with the opening game being a T20 international in Harare on Friday, the report added. Wish a speedy recovery.
