Such cute, simplistic view of the world! Agree with the BCCI --> You are on BCCI payroll Disagree with the BCCI --> You are on ECB payroll
Er no one is saying that. You have a very simplisitc view of things. But if someone totally and always defends BCCI , srini , dhoni and co. Plus if they never ever ever criticise bcci , then something must be up. Yes praise bcci if do good but when not then a word against is neccessary. Or are some saying BCCI is perfect? Also total fact that Shastri and Sunny are on payroll. Thats not a secret thats a fact.

your missing the point of the subject. BCCI is wrong to muzzle them. However IMO its wrong to expect the commentators to go against the wishes of their employer. How it became a BCCI issue in this thread i dont know. Problem is even a broken clock is right twice a day. So when Sunny and Ravi rightly praise the BCCI people accuse them of being on the payroll. what next BCCI comes out with 1+1 =2 and Ravi and Sunny say that right. your going to jump on their case saying they are on the payroll? I dont see you for example make thread after thread on commentators in the media who are nothing but critical of the BCCI and call themselves exports. Its a bit like that Malcolm Conn. Only publishes negative things. Where is the balance?

and people talk about muzzling, lets not even get into the world of rupert murdoch. You think his titles reported on the certain hacking scam? Many cricketers phones in England atleast were hacked by his tabloids. Oddly non of them made a mention of it in their newspapers....I wonder why. Infact why are the sky team silent on crickters phones being hack by Murdoch's tabloids.....it was mentioned on test match special at length. Dont tell me sky were quiet in all this due to playing that graphics a bit too often

I dont blame them. If I was offered crores, I would say whatever they want:cantstop: Point is why is BCCI/srini doing/allowed to do this. And why do stupid fans accept it(well same reason people of india accept corrupt politicians), why do media not jump up and down. I give up!!!

again you think the media is not muzzuled themselves on issues such as politics? Why did NDTV for eg not give extensive coverage to the radia tapes with barkha dutt? Regardless, i have been too many articles which are critical of the BCCI from media outlets. What do you want them to do? Order a hit on Srinivasan by pooling in to hire an assassin? The BCCI remains a private body. Its not a governmental institution. By all means jail them for not paying taxes. But how they ask their employees to act is 100% upto them. Its not as if BCCI wants Sunny or Ravi to expose themselves by wearing bikinis themselves.

Some stupid fans think if they criticize BCCI just because someone wrote something they somehow become intellectual without ever realizing it could be much worse and also forgetting the fact that BCCI while corrupt to the core still is best thing for Indian cricket. If cricket goes under sports ministry it will go to dogs.

1. If people came in hours after the match started, it's fine for commentators to say the stadium is full despite empty seats galore. 2. Commentators found out that the empty seats were for the corporates, so it's fine to say the stadium is full even though there are empty seats galore. 3. Commentators have seen figures that the stadium is sold out, so it's fine to say that the stadium is full even though there are empty seats galore. 4. Only some seats next to the sight-screens were empty, even though there were empty seats galore.. 5. Commentators were doing social service by not giving false hopes to the public, telling them the stadium is full even though there were empty seats galore. You can't make this stuff up!

BCCI are a sh!t organization but I don't think that it is B/W. Someone like a Gavaskar criticizes the BCCI too but keeps his mouth shut sometimes. That's just about it.

When was the last time gavaskar criticised bcci except when he was not given his ipl due.I still remember Ravi after england loss saying We should not fear defeat at home and sunny recently on the srini controversy about bcci not forming a independent panel to look in to csk ,gavaskar response was srini should not step down as he is a good person so he will not interfere and out of nowhere when he was cornered he said why only gores can be trusted:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:.

You see what you want to see. There have been many times where Gavaskar has criticized the BCCI. There are other examples posted in this thread, here's one example - b6Ejc1fh8io

and in the aftermath of the 72 run loss v Aus. sunny in this video talking to NDTV is clearly following the official BCCI stance............NOT D_dCGjy7UVw

Former India opener Sunil Gavaskar is extremely critical of India's 72-run loss to Australia in the first ODI. He feels that if MS Dhoni has come down hard on his players for failing to perform, then it is a clear sign that they need to pull up their socks. Gavaskar also speaks on a hint of complacency that may have crept into the Indian team after their recent run of success. He further adds that there is still a long way to go in the series with so much cricket remaining.
As i said before. Some people want commentators and media to be critical of the BCCI and players all the time..... this negative mindset needs to be eliminated. In the aftermath of the spot fixing crisis in the IPL, you had the private media moaning like somebody had kicked them in the nuts because apparently Sachin was quiet. In the ideal world of our shameless Indian media everything would be 100% out in the open. That how they can sell their newspapers and 24/7 news.....

"Being a Mumbaikar I feel what is the urgency when there is no co-operation from the other side," said Gavaskar. Gavaskar also felt that India are playing a lot of cricket in the upcoming season and any other series would only put pressure on the cricketers. England are scheduled to arrive in India for a four-match Test series followed by two Twenty20 internationals before going home on Christmas. They would be back to play five one-day internationals, scheduled to take place from January 11. "Well, my first reaction is that the time the players have between the England series, it is not going to be there. They are playing England in November-December but now they are not going to get the breather," Gavaskar said.
u think this is criticism of bcci and what are other examples of gavaskar criticizing bcci int he thread.U will not be able to find much because there aint nothing.its all out in opne if u open ur eyes as ian, sanjay saga points out all the clauses commentators have to adhere to.

As a listener I personally find Ian Chappell irritating ' date=' as he come across know it all guy, [b']this is same guy who was saying it is Aussie system which was producing great talent and now say turns around and says system is rotten. while you may find their commentary irritating someone is finding it good otherwise they would not be on the job for this long, BCCI doing production started only recently. Champions Trophy feed was not ICC feed but star sports feed as they have the rights to all ICC events. My point was more about Bhogle and Indian commies's mentality. I don't think they are told not to discuss even dropped catches , it may be just an oversight on their part.
In regards to the dropped catches. It is nothing to do with BCCI at all and the restrictions but more of that their analysis is not really analysis as it is more catered to the casual fan as I feel it is. It is annoying but nothing to do with restrictions. However there are restrictions nonetheless. I back Chappelli on this. As to the bold part he is right. Things change in the space of 3 years in cricket. The system is pretty average right now but there are still some great talents and that kind of rings true today. So he is right on that. You may not like him, I think he is senile somewhat but he does say what is on his mind and is cut through all the bull and political BS about it which is something the BCCI hired commentators can't do.

More for you - on selection of a team, it can go on and on. Like G_B_ said you can't have Gavaskar opening up a thread on ICF shouting on top of his voice. 3VS8fS4rDng

u do view the video before posting all just search by headline.we do have a selection panel even though it may not be able to name a captain.

Yeah Gavaskar before India losing at home. However in saying that you do wonder if it is due to India losing a test series at home against England which has brought the changes.

Seen this very much - you asked for examples, I gave you. Now, the classic turn around is to live in denial. Very much then - I can't help it. In this video, he clearly criticizes the selection of Rahul Dravid, RP Singh etc.

The biggest problem i notice with some people is, they want to be critical of the BCCI all the time for everything. Now i really dont like Srini at all. But there needs to be some balance in the critic. Like it or not, the BCCI are successfully generating money, ranji players salary is heavily increasing and new stadiums and infra is being built. The new stadiums in rajkot and pune and ranchi are fantastic.
This is good to a certain extent. But how much ? For every rupee that BCCI earn, the viewer takes a bit of the tab. I pay the price by having one-third of my screen filled by ads all the time, pay increased ticket prices and being treated like a dog generally, watching BCCI save even more from their taxes that could have helped the country in different ways.
