The OP talks about a child-free zone and not a child lock-up zone. The former is a zone/area where children are not allowed and does not equate to a room on the flight where children are dumped into (like you are referring to).

EDIT: while we are on this topic - leg space should be more, place to rest arms should be wider, toilets should be bigger, waiting time before take off and after landing should be less.
