It's really hard batting in South Africa. You might be 80 for no loss in first session and by the time second session ends, team is about 140-5. There is always there for the bowlers, and it's the batsman who are testing all day. Sometimes the focus shown by bats as they are prepared is really good for first session, and eventually they get complacent. It could work on Indian pitchs, that approach but in South Africa, you have to be fully focussed batting all day as you will be facing barrage of bouncers from all the seamers in their line up. So if Dhawan and Vijay can do that for atleast 2 times out of 4 in the two tests, I would be really happy. Pujara- I hope he averages atleast 45+. For India to win a test match in South Africa, we need him to grind it out and bat long. Him at 3, taking over Dravid's slot, if he can stick around for 2 sessions each inning, It will be the best thing for our line up. Has to have support of other bats too of course. Kohli/Rohit - I hope they are able to average 40 on this tour. It will be tough conditions for both our run machines who have been scoring heavily in odiz off late. If they do better, it's all bonus for me. Dhoni - I expect him to average 35+ and probably more. He is our best player to bat with the tail and stretch our score to 300 if we are around about 160 for 6 or something, where he will use his shrewd ODI skills of taking singles, doubles and hitting occasional 15-17 runs per over to one of the saf seamer. Overall. I expect them to make it 1-1. The players under most pressure? I believe Murali Vijay will start the test series under biggest of pressure as everyone seems to be expecting him to fail. Though I do believe that his opening partner Dhawan might as well become the player under most pressure if he doesn't do well in the odi series which is to take place before test series. If Dhawan doesn't score well in ODI'S, there will be plenty of pressure for him going into test series, this is where Rahane could be slotted in as an opener if Dhawan fails in first test.

Even Pakistan drew the series 1-1 (in UAE)[/quote'] Pakistan drew the series when South Africa was coming into a series without any match practice and playing on slow tough spinning wickets where the scoring rate is slow. Pakistan on other hand were playing enough cricket. They came from full tour to zimbabwe and had been playing regular cricket. Graeme Smith was playing after long time after injury. It was a disastrous start but the team was too good too be stream rolled and they picked their performance in the 2nd test to level the series. In UAE all test match results won't be one sided. Having a test match is like a twenty20 game result, it won't look one sided as the pitches don't let batsman score enough runs.
