King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 They SA have clear game plan. Opening bowlers up front. The bowlers know their roles and that it wont change much unless some thing very ood happens Dhobi has no game plan. Relies on his pants gut instinct. Bowlers have no idea what is going to happen, when they will bowl, how many to bowl etc etc
King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Forget backing. Hit for one 4, dhobi hauls them off. Kills them
express bowling Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 And this is exactly what SA are doing. Bolwers know their role, know the game plan AND ARE BACKED! Yep.
shortbread Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Forget backing. Hit for one 4' date=' dhobi hauls them off. Kills them[/quote'] Hit '1' 4. its a shower of 4s. Our bowlers are just not good enough. A few good balls but wait and you will get a pathetic excuse of a delivery to hit wherever the batsmen please. No captain in world cricket has to deal with such an appalling line up of bowlers!!

What Yadav went for 10 runs in 2 overs, taken off!!! Madness
rkt.india Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Appaling captaincy seriously. No idea what he was trying to achieve with Raina and Kohli in 12th over. Part timers will never win you matches in these conditions.
Zanjeer Posted December 8, 2013 Author Posted December 8, 2013 What Yadav went for 10 runs in 2 overs' date=' taken off!!! Madness[/quote'] how can he give away 10 runs in 2 overs? Poor poor bowling...:omg:
shortbread Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Yadav gets away with a lot bad balls. The second over he got hammered for 2 4s but actually got away with atleast a couple of full pitched balls that got driven to fielders!!! No doubt hes a far better option than the likes of Mohit Sharma, Vinaykoomarr..... but he does not have the brains to work a batsman, he crosses his fingers and just delivers hoping for the best!! His pace just makes things easy for the batsman.
CSK Fan Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Even Steyn went for 10 in 2 overs, Wonder why he was not taken off
shortbread Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Even Steyn went for 10 in 2 overs' date=' Wonder why he was not taken off[/quote'] Shall help you with a couple of reasons, HE TAKES WICKETS HE INTIMIDATES BATSMAN Umesh Yadav cant do either!!
CG Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Shall help you with a couple of reasons, HE TAKES WICKETS HE INTIMIDATES BATSMAN Umesh Yadav cant do either!! When steyn was young he was not considered a odi bowler and saved from odis.U do not treat a young fast bowler like that.
King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Shall help you with a couple of reasons, HE TAKES WICKETS HE INTIMIDATES BATSMAN Umesh Yadav cant do either!! O ok. So he is not as good as steyn, so we give him 2 overs only. Then bring on Ishant and Raina. Good thinking

Good thinking[/quote'] I thought taking the pace off was a good idea. I understand when you say its defensive and wont bring wickets but I dont think we have a bowler who is capable of taking wickets in his own right. I does look pathetic, a spread out fielding side happy to give away singles, but its a true reflection of Indian bowling. I hope they prove me wrong some day!!

What taking pace of the ball by brining on ishant. Then raina and kohli in tandemn! Insanity Dont pick fast bowler if not going to use him properly. If picking him use him in way to get best out of him

Difference is, Morkel and Johnson have looked equally pathetic at many times in their career but were backed and did well You cannot use the same excuse of not having good bowlers. After we had money and good coaching, management and captaincy, our batting and fielding has improved leaps and bound. You cannot always make the excuse of lack of skills, bowlers like BK, Ishant outbowled the opposition in their first few series and then slowly become a carbon copy of others and become ordinary the more they play. Surely there is something behind this

Surely there is something behind this 2 cents I am not using an excuse!! Theres a lot of talk about bowling friendly pitches in India, training academies, new gen of genuinely quick bowlers..... but other than talk theres very little to see. I do not know what the issues are and maybe it is Dhonis fault!! But what I do see is India quick bowlers being easy meat for most world batsmen. Plenty of poor deliveries, no sticking to any plans laid out!! What we somehow do is manage to pull back with slower bowlers and pray the batsmen commit a mistake.

You just expect a player to debut and be steyn. You dont understand why other players debut for other countries, look ordinary/show promise/or have bad games and improve. While ours decline. The is a reason for that, as outlined by many

If u give quick bowlers 10 overs ,they created 3-4 chances which did not go to hand.what do u expect of young quickies against good sa batsman.
adi B Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Shut up?! Is Sreekanth posting on this site now?... :hysterical::hysterical:gem

Just think of what happened with Md. Shami. After his return in the Aussie ODIs, he was picking wickets by the dozens. Swinging and seaming the ball at high pace. Yet, he was removed from the opening bowler's slot , introduced around the 10 th over for only 1 over or so multiple times and basically used as a defensive option in the later part of the innings. Remember that , with the 2 balls rule, reverse swing is a rarity in ODIs. Basically, it is using aggressive bowlers in defensive roles and hence, not developing or encouraging wicket taking bowlers. It is this mentality that is being discussed.
