the broad trend appears to be that Congress barring say karnataka are losing about and their total is being halved in most cases. In delhi i doubt they will retain all 6 seats. Same for Haryana. Its fair to say congress might finish with 100-120 seats. With BJP getting about 180 seats.

yeah, its 33. But if they need it then in all probability there will be an option for a post poll alliance with Jagan or TRS (same would be open to BJP also). In Kerela they will lose around 4-5 seats - thats what it looks like right now. They are definitely losing Haryana and Delhi and a loss of at least 15 seats in Rajasthan and a few in Maharashtraand of course, at the very least, a loss of around 12-15 (if not more) in UP.
the losses in maharashtra will be much deeper. There is general chaos in the congress after Vilasrao Deshmukh died in Marathwada especially. Raju shetti recently shifted to the Sena-BJP combine and he has huge influence over 5 seats in rural maharashtra where NCP_Congress all hold seats. There are rumours sitting Congress MP's within those Lok Sabha assemblies are thinking of jumping ship. http://www.dnaindia.com/mumbai/report-raju-shetti-s-move-will-be-a-game-changer-in-sugar-belt-1950020

^ Come on U really think Congress can win a single seat(let alone 2-3 seats) if they contest the elections seperately i.e without DMK or ADMK alliance. Highly optimistic prediction imo. Even Vijayakanth struggled to scrap deposits 2009 LS elections despite big wave in his favour

In which case the best news for the BJP will probably be in TN that the AIADMK sweeps it all and ends up with close to 30 seats. Jayalalitha is a good friend of Mr Modi. While business takes first place it will be a more cordial alliance than say Trinamool and the Congress. If Jagan congress and TRS are up for support as well. That potentially makes it about 50 seats which can come Mr Modi's way in terms of an alliance. If the BJP wins say 180 as most polls as of now are predicting, Sena+ Akali + Haryana coalition partners should be about 20. All of a sudden 272 seems in striking distance.

BJP can form a government with 180 but it would be better for them if they are close to 200.

CNN-IBN News ‏@ibnlive RT @IBNLiveRealtime Andhra poll tracker: YSR Congress to get 11-19 seats, TDP 9-15, Congress 5-9, TRS 4-8 If this does happen then it will be a HUGE blow to Cong as they had over 30 MPs from Andhra.
congress will get big fat 0 in andhra and if there is no formation of telangana before polls they will not even get 3 seats

Cong's 3-time Haryana MP Inderjit Singh defects to BJP

NEW DELHI: Trying hard to ride on the anti-Congress wave in Haryana, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) will officially announce the joining of three-time Congress MP from Gurgaon Rao Inderjit Singh in the saffron outfit on February 13. With Singh in its fold, BJP in Haryana is expected to improve its support base just before the Lok Sabha election. For months since Singh spoke publically against the shady land deal involving Gandhi family son-in-law Robert Vadra and demanded a CBI probe. There had been rumours whether he would join BJP or float his own political outfit. Singh, who has a good support base in the southern Haryana, known as "ahirwal" and dominated by Yadavs (Inderjit belongs to this community), is a popular face across Gurgaon, Mahendragarh, Mewat, Rewari, Bhiwani and Faridabad districts. Singh told TOI that he met BJP supremo Rajnath Singh and state BJP in charge Jagdish Mukhi on Tuesday and he will join the party at the BJP headquarters on the "precious" day. The politician from Haryana, who had become the biggest critique of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, said that he was joining BJP for a "strong and decisive" government at the Centre. "It's no more the same Congress that I joined decades ago. BJP is the only alternate to Congress, which has been hijacked by a few people. In Harayan, it's one man's show (read Hooda)," Singh said. On being asked why he was leaving Congress at a time party's No.2, Rahul Gandhi, is sending signals of pushing strong decisions, Singh said, "It's too late. I can only wish good luck to Rahul. I am no more in his team," the sitting MP said. Singh's entry in BJP is likely to create some storm in the saffron and Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) alliance since the HJC chief Kuldip Bishnoi is also eyeing for the chief minister's seat. But the three-time MP said that the focus is now on the general election and to ensure maximum seats are bagged by BJP-HJC alliance. "State election is not the priority now," the leader said. Sources said that out of around 30 assembly seats in the southern Haryana belt, Singh has good hold over 15 of them. There are also sizable Yadav votes in Koshli assembly constituency under Rohtak Lok Sabha seat and parts of Hisar district, which Singh can swing for BJP. On the issue of Aam Admi Party (AAP) gaining ground in the state and it's likelihood of eating into BJP votes, Singh said, "People are aware that BJP is the only party that can counter Congress at the Centre. AAP is a newborn party. We don't know whether it will have the capacity to run a national government 10 years down the line."
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Congs-3-time-Haryana-MP-Inderjit-Singh-defects-to-BJP/articleshow/29176879.cms The battle for Haryana is a two party fight between AAP and BJP-janhit (Bishnoi). In Haryana BJP will rely on caste equations + Modi factor. AAP will rely on broad support and Kejriwal. I doubt INDL or even Congress will get a look in. Congress has won 9 seats in the lok sabha in Haryana. All indicators point to them getting 2 seats this time.
