G_B_ Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 As i said they should do well in the NCR region. They should come out as victors in Delhi unless ofcourse something really drastic happens (which is possible) CNN-IBN had a poll saying they had 17% of the vote in Haryana and 14% in Punjab. They need to boost those to winning positions cause in Haryana both the Congress and BJP-Janhit and INLD constantly polled more than them. While in Punjab they were just eating into the congress votes and ensuring that SAD-BJP won more. But a 5% extra swing especially in Haryana and they should be able to register a good account.

BeautifulGame Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 AAP best chance in south most likely will be Kerala and Pondycherry . Pondycherry and Kerala both have small constituencies with strong middle class votes .

G_B_ Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 MDMK to ally with BJP for Lok Sabha polls BJP and MDMK on Thursday officially announced their alliance for the Lok Sabha polls even as the former is said to be holding talks with two other regional parties in the state. With this, the BJP-MDMK alliance has virtually emerged as the third front against the regional majors AIADMK and DMK in Tamil Nadu for the Lok Sabha polls. Addressing a joint press meet in Chennai, BJP state president Pon. Radhakrishnan and MDMK general secretary Vaiko said their alliance was a winning combination and would add a new political dimension in the state. “Since 1998, we have had a good relationship with MDMK even without alliance. We are now making it official,” Mr. Radhakrishnan said. In response to a query on the two parties having divergent views on issues such as ‘Eelam’ (separate homeland for Tamils), Mr. Vaiko said, “Parties do not necessarily agree on all issues in an alliance. What matters is the basic policy that the Congress should be dethroned.” “We have not made any preconditions on whether this or that party should join the alliance,” Mr. Vaiko clarified. The parties were yet to agree on the number of seats to be shared between them. While Mr. Vaiko said the party would decide on his candidature, Mr. Radhakrishnan interrupted to say, “We would want him (Vaiko) to contest.” BJP has also invited MDMK to participate in a public meeting to be addressed by its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Chennai on February 8. Asserting there is a ‘Modi wave’ in the country, Mr. Vaiko said only BJP has the power to dethrone the Congress. Asked for his reaction to senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar’s controversial ‘tea vendor’ remarks against Mr. Modi, Mr. Vaiko lashed out at Congress, saying history showed a son of a cobbler and son of a carpenter becoming rulers of nations. BJP was presently holding talks with DMDK and PMK for forming alliances, Mr. Radhakrishnan said. “We are talking to persons next to Mr. Vijaykanth. We are sure he won’t support Congress or parties associated with the Congress,” he said, replying to a query http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/tamil-nadu/mdmk-to-ally-with-bjp-for-lok-sabha-polls/article5609279.ece Looks like the BJP wants a trioka alliance, BJP-DMDK/PMK-Vaiko Fair to say that a trioka of sorts will get IMO 15% of the vote share in the coming lok sabha elections. what do our tamil friends think
ganeshran Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 Vaiko is a useless hack, PMK has a good votebank among Vanniyars but that only works when their votebank votes are added to one of the Dravidian parties with broad support. With BJP the party won't get many seats. DMDK alliance will benefit BJP is Vijaykanth agrees. Otherwise TN will be decided on post poll tie-ups
G_B_ Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I dont think the BJP are looking sweep TN. They are probably aiming for 2-3 seats.
yoda Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 BJP + ADMK seems like natural alliance given that Jaya is a big Modi fan and INC's alliance with DMK in the past. Not sure why this fekcup with MDMK.
randomGuy Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 isnt AAP left of most communist parties in india, the only thing going for them is their puported clean image. certain policies are universally proven either right or wrong. There's no differences among major parties. Differences are mainly on specific issues . For ex. Bjp is fiscally liberal and yet it opposes FDI in retail
