G_B_ Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 i would love to see them all alone and see if they can survive on IPL :cantstop:. thats just not going to happen a few other countries will split with them. You would have to be foolish to believe that the BCCI will go on its own. WI and SL for example will follow.
G_B_ Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Oh no since India is earning more they have the right according to people here. Don't worry about the other countries, It is all about India, who cares if nations like NZ which compete in other sports and have a smaller population are struggling because India deserves more..... lol the funny thing is how corrupt India is that no government tries to help other sports. NZC has been a test playing member since 1930. While nobody is expecting them to earn like the all blacks. The very least they are expected to be is self sufficient. If they cannot be self sufficient after nearly 80 years at the top level in sport the problem is at their end. Cricket consistently ranks as the number 2 organised team sport in New Zealand and the number 1 summer sport. Thanks to the IPL, cricketers like Ross Taylor are actually earning more than their All Black counter parts. New Zealand has a gross domestic product of 100 odd billion. NZC needs about 30-35 million USD per year to fullfill all its commitments and maintain and spread infrastructure. If every person in NZ therefore gives up $10 of their earning to cricket they are more than covered. How about we shift this debate to the failure of cricketing boards outside India-England-Aus to actually spread the game in their countries over a long period of time. I can understand Zimbabwe cricket failing. Their entire economy is kaput. But whats stopping South Africa, Pakistan and Nz from being self sufficient? Pakistan has nearly 200 million. Enough to raise revenue via TV deals. BD has nearly 135 million pop. Enough to raise rev via TV deals. NZ is a developed country with per capita income at $25,000 SA has a population of 45 million and is a medium income country. Their team tends to do well in cricket and are current number 1 in tests. Cricket is particularly followed by the white coloured and asian communities who have a per capita income of more than $15,000 USD and make up about 12 million of the population. Why are they struggling to be self sufficient to raise about 60-70 million CSA need. Those 12 million paid $5 per year thats CSA well on their pay to be self sufficient.

Take the SLC spent all their money in building a stadium in Hambantota in the middle of no where. Sri Lankan premier league flopped. Pakistan keep changing CEOs at the drop of a hat. BD are mired in corruption more than even the BCCI. Its been long enough. Both Sri lanka and Bangladesh are growing well at about 6%. Pakistan is a 250 billion economy. How long do you expect the BCCI to bankroll either incompetance in governance (BD, SL, Pak) or Incompetence in spreading the game in your country even though it was an established sport decades ago ( NZ and CSA) The only board in recent times which has done well are the WICB with the CPL. They are well on their way to be self sufficient. Kudos to them. Looks like T20 cricket might be the saviour of WI. If/When Afghanistan and Ireland join. You know what fair enough, support them for the next 10-15 years with direct financial help. I can understand Zimbabwe cricket as well. Mugabe means nobody can function. Support them as well. But how long are we going to keep supporting the likes of NZC, there has to be some cut off point no?
alexander Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I dont mind India having a bigger share of revenues, but all other suggestions are silly. Pull out. They can play Nepal each week. You'd think India were as successful as Australia the way they act. For much of history, India has been a B team and it still is away from home. :finger:

They just want everyone to bow down to their demands.

For much of history, India has been a B team and it still is away from home. :finger: This is India at ICC events or events with more than 6 test playing nations in ODIs and T20s. 1983 world cup England won 1985 Benson and Hedges cup Australia won 2002 Champions Trophy Sri Lanka won 2007 T20 Cricket world cup South Africa won 2011 World cup India won 2013 Champions Trophy England won 7 trophies, 2 won in the subcontinent and 5 won away. 2 in europe, 1 in Australia and 1 in Africa. :hatsoff: meanwhile...... England have never won any ICC ODI tournament. Choking in the finals 6 times :hysterical:
alexander Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Cricket is more then just ODI events. And England have won a T20 world cup. Your W/L ratio is amongst the worse. So why didnt India win more often if they are so good? Only Australia have the track record to throw their weight around.

So why didnt India win more often if they are so good? Only Australia have the track record to throw their weight around. The issue is not winning. Since 80% of ICC revenue is generated by BCCI, they think they can throw their weight around, if their puppets ECB and CA cooperate.

So why didnt India win more often if they are so good? Only Australia have the track record to throw their weight around. I don't know why this is so difficult to understand, but I will spell this out for you and lets see if you can grasp it BCCI bring around 95% of ICC Revenue. Read that again. The revenue has NOTHING to do with performances. It is a simple fact that India playing brings more money. So now BCCI want a bigger cut of the pie because they bring in more money. Not all of it, but their fair share Knowing BCCI they are more concerned with money. It's ECB and ACB who want permanent membership Hope now it is clear

What are you a moron? the BCCI claim to pull out of ICC events which the ODIs WC Champions Trophy and T20 WC are. how exactly hard is that to understand?
G_B_ Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 and just to be clear the number of ICC events won by countries in mens cricket are India 6.5 or 7 Australia 6 West Indies 5 Pakistan 2 Sri Lanka 1.5 or 2 South Africa 1 England 1 New Zealand 1 the 0.5 is the shared champions trophy in 2002 v Sri Lanka. It can be taken as 1 or 0.5
hhunaeh Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 alexander keeps making stupid random troll posts in every thread and people keep falling for it.
G_B_ Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 he is probably a pakistani pretending to be english. You can tell the difference in his posts which are similar to special K. Then you have real english supporters like Sereni and IndiaRegulator. You can tell even from basic phrases etc
Zap_Brannigan Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 They should just call the bluff and let BCCI withdraw from World T20 lets see the tamasha then. BCCI won't withdraw from ICC tournaments outright. In 2015, when the new contracts are to be signed, if the new revenue structure is not approved, the most BCCI will do is hold out on signing the ICC contract without the FTP clause and maybe guarantee that it will play only in some ICC tournaments and not all. If atleast that goes thro' they will stop going to tours to the nations that were against this. ICC will not get a good TV rights deal when India might not play all the ICC tournaments, maybe the likes of Champions trophy. ICC revenue will plummet as will the TV rights of the other boards without an Indian tour. India can survive a few years with IPL(maybe extended), champions league (with BBL and Eng county teams) and a yearly tour from Aus and Eng. Meanwhile, all the rest will not have money to pay the salaries of the players and certainly cannot match IPL salaries. We will see something similar to packer era or what happened to pak players due to ICL. On the other hand, if ICC doesnt agree to the changes and kick out India, India will form its own ICC with Aus, ECB and whoever is willing. They will have their own WC and maybe even test championship. Again no board can survive this.
cricketman Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I say ICC should call the bluff. Indian public will turn on BCCI so fast they will have no choice but to cooperate
alexander Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I have supported India getting more money. But rigging the standings and holding ICC events hostage is not right. Even such logical positions get you folk angry?
King Tendulkar Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I say ICC should call the bluff. Indian public will turn on BCCI so fast they will have no choice but to cooperate Exactly No way india can wittdraw from any event. Indian public would not have it But then srini thinks is god, may do it:giggle:
