SLICKR392 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Its not about Tare. I like him as a batsman as well. Yadav is our best Test bowler, ATM. And saying pace is his only assets his ignorant. He got the wickets in Australia because of his swing, more than his pace. Check out the NZ-Ind home series. He was swinging it in the B'lore Test match and out bowled the English quicks in Ahemabad with his pace and reverse. Looked far, far better ODI bowler than Aaron. He used his variations and varied his lengths in CT and Tri Series, which got him among the wickets. Absolutely no genuine reason on why he is not being considered. That guy is only going to get worse warming the bench.

Old guy Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 thats cause mumbai have earned this backing by being 40 times ranji champions remind me how many for punjab? :cantstop: please select as many mumbai players in all time great ranji team as you want and i do not have any favorites in ranji and if i have ever supported any team ever ..it was bengal because of shami and i wanted to see him perform badly on tv :cantstop: but being 40 times winners does not means all their current players are good.. i saw yadav getting hyped up last year and he is still a hack and most people agree and with tare he is much better but i do not see him a world class player as simple as that ..you can disagree but any one can smash any one on pattas and even zaheer got tonked by zol who is still under 19. anyway if you realy want that to be benchmark than umesh should be in team right now because he performed so well in these recent list a games and has clearly found his rhythm back so what now ?
G_B_ Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 And just to make things clear Yadav is part of Maharashtra via the Viderbha cricket team (which is in Maha). I want Umesh to play for India and have a long innings. But i feel he needs to play more domestic cricket to get his mojo back. In that sense Umesh will be better off dropped rather than picking up the air miles. One step backwards to have 2 steps forward
SLICKR392 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 every bowler has got 2 asses. Would be hard to have balance bowling with just one ass Damn it! Never commit a typo with you around. :banghead:

Mumbai have won 3 ranji titles in the past 6 odd years. Its hardly as if you last victory was something like 20 years ago. Aka Punjab

One step backwards to have 2 steps forward his aissue was getting rhythm..which he got now he does not really has technical problems to wrk out in ranjis or lack of wicket taking ability which ishant has which needs tons of matches to learn umesh simply needed to get his form back i do not see the point of him bowling in ranjis as he has shown in past he easily destroys teams in his group and even in international cricket he picks wickets. at most i will say when he is not playing odis he can play in england to prepare for coming tours and get used to conditions but ranji just does not make sense for some one like him whose overs are valuable and being a fast bowler risky too
G_B_ Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Damn it! Never commit a typo with you around. :banghead: there must be a tranny near by to distract you or something

TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 that is BS he reverses the ball and moves the new ball at very high pace also gets movement of seam so pace is not his only weapon and whenever he got even hint of help from track he has picked wickets quickly and his strike rate proves that heck his away swinger is probably better than both shami and bhuvi as you can see from ball which bowled ponting! Don't know which bowler you're talking about but the bowler I've watched, Umesh Yadav, doesn't get a whole lot of movement in the air or off the pitch. Seems like a pretty one-dimensional bowler most of the time. Watching some of his "Best of" videos on YouTube seems to have skewed your judgments on him.
Old guy Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Mumbai have won 3 ranji titles in the past 6 odd years. Its hardly as if you last victory was something like 20 years ago. Aka Punjab and they got playersl ike rahane ,rohit kulkarni and jaffer to thank for it and most of them are in team or near getting debut and one of them (jaffer ) is on other side of clock and his international career is over next biggest contibutor was nayar who has gotten chances and never looked good and recently lost form then there were guys like yadav who has performed like one series wonder and their spinner got banned i think ?
G_B_ Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 his aissue was getting rhythm..which he got now he does not really has technical problems to wrk out in ranjis or lack of wicket taking ability which ishant has which needs tons of matches to learn umesh simply needed to get his form back i do not see the point of him bowling in ranjis as he has shown in past he easily destroys teams in his group and even in international cricket he picks wickets. at most i will say when he is not playing odis he can play in england to prepare for coming tours and get used to conditions but ranji just does not make sense for some one like him whose overs are valuable and being a fast bowler risky too I feel Ranjis are where he needs to get his mojo back. Let him go through teams. Its also about building confidence. I just want Umesh to play the whole domestic season. Bowl about 250 overs in a ranji season and take plenty of wickets. Its the same for somebody like Pandey. His form must be shot sitting on the bench for nearly 2 months
Old guy Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Don't know which bowler you're talking about but the bowler I've watched' date=' Umesh Yadav, doesn't get a whole lot of movement in the air or off the pitch. Seems like a pretty one-dimensional bowler most of the time.[/quote'] then you have not really seen him bowl please see perth match in mcg he was moving ball of seam and even in south africa where he got one odi he moved ball both ways and was taken off after 2 overs! :hysterical:

His form must be shot sitting on the bench for nearly 2 months pandey is already in team and even he now should not bowl himself to dust in ranji..umesh is big no no for me he should be in test team and we have 2 places open anyway if you think about ideal scenario both umesh and pandey should be in team. umesh has not failed in tests to get dropped anyway so i not even see why he needs ranji when he has gotten his rhythm back and clearly is picking wickets easily at this level
TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 then you have not really seen him bowl please see perth match in mcg he was moving ball of seam and even in south africa where he got one odi he moved ball both ways and was taken off after 2 overs! :hysterical: I have seen him bowl enough. And I guess I was right about YouTube videos having skewed your judgment. He went wicketless in Sydney and picked up just 2 wickets in the last game.
Old guy Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I have seen him bowl enough. And I guess I was right about YouTube videos having skewed your judgment. He went wicketless in Sydney and picked up just 2 wickets in the last game. you obviously have not seen him bowl in that last game he was easily the best bowler from both teams against engand and only quick bowler who actually bowled well and picked iwckets and many times looked threatening through out the spell with reverse swing :winky: also i said his problem is consistency on flat tracks and that was total patta i will put my neck out and say only thing he lacks is bit of control specially on pattas otherwise he is the most complete test bowler we have got he got bit of help in mcg and got wickets in heaps and we were in game until dravid dropped hussey and he got 5 wicket haul in perth after warner blasted away ishant and vinay and bowled one of the best spells i have seen from young bowler swinging the ball away at high pace and getting edges and bowled dismissals . he always gets a lot out of pitch if it helps a bit there is no way in hell he is bowler with just pace.. you can argue that with aaron and i might even agree but umesh is genuine wicket taker who moves the ball and that is what impressed me most when i saw him more than pace. just see his wickets against west indies in kolkata in his 2nd test match all of them were cos of swing ... or maybe practice game before champions trophy where wicket had little bit of dampness and he got 6 wicket haul i will say again his only problem is consistency on flat tracks otherwise he has every damn skill needed to be successful with pace only being one of them.
Yoda-esque Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Aditya Tare skinned him alive when every other virderbha bowler was ok Lol
TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 you obviously have not seen him bowl in that last game he was easily the best bowler from both teams against engand and only quick bowler who actually bowled well and picked iwckets and many times looked threatening through out the spell with reverse swing :winky: I was talking about the last game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Adelaide, not some patta wicket.

He went wicketless in Sydney and picked up just 2 wickets in the last game. Could you kindly share the YouTube videos? He gets plenty of movement in the pitch but his issue had always been his lack of consistency in his length. Which has improved a lot since his stint with TA Sekar.
