Harish Salve, one of the senior lawyers arguing the Justice Mudgal Committee report case before the Supreme Court, on Thursday claimed that India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is guilty of corrupt conduct because he gave false statements to the Mudgal Committee about Gurunath Meiyappan's role with the Chennai Super Kings. "Dhoni is an employee of India Cements and that leads to a conflict of interest," Salve added. The prosecution has also called for Chennai franchise to be suspended in the light of the allegations against Dhoni. ALSO SEE Dhoni under cloud of suspicion in IPL scandal Earlier, Srinivasan's defence was that Meiyappan was not the Team Principal but just a cricket enthusiast but the Mudgal committee demolished that argument by finding conclusive evidence to state Meiyappan was be integral part of the CSK franchise.

NKP Salve served as cabinet minister in the Rajiv Gandhi government. :--D He's the common denominator for Reliance, Vodafone and 10 other corporate big wigs. Another trivia - he was also the legal counsel for the "poor" Nigerian women in the Somnath Bharti Khidkee incident case.

It's the job of the prosecution to call out on the defendant - his words may or may not be the true.
The whole reason he is getting dragged into this whole thing is the conflict of interest at various levels. I kept on warning about this when he went to Rhiti, CSK was bought by Srini, Dhoni became captain of CSK and was saved by Srini. People said it didn't matter. But see how many tongues are wagging now

I hope conflict of interest is also looked in to of board officials and players if investigation is done by outside agency.

I was making a different point about not to take the prosecution's statement at face value.

well we discussed the same thing when the report was made public and it was expected the prosecution would argue the point.Also did the bcci admit g.m was not a cricket enthusiast recently.

Yes and that's the job of the prosecution; doesn't make it true or false - at this point further investigation needed on the details. I'm just trying to exercise caution on not getting too head of the situation particularly with misleading headlines.

IF his name is there in the sealed envelope then he will have to resign from captaincy pending the probe - I don't think there would be a choice in this matter. Or if the Court says something about his conflict of interest then again he might be in trouble.

You are missing the point,his name may or may not be in the envelope but it has to be proved first. The name is there because someme bookie called Kitty talked to a corrupt cop that took money from him and was suspended. Very good prosecuting evidence..

They have pointed out how the bootlicker lied to protect his master,Its a good start .They will investigate match fixing,conflict of interest by an outside agency like nia or cbi lets hope truth comes out.Anyways its a good start.
