Does he own any or part of the franchise to declare him an owner? 2. Did he have any official contract/employment letter which made him an employee/part of management? 3. Was he paid by the them? 4. Was he just volunteering and making himself available everywhere whenever he felt like it? G.m himself said he exchanged team sheets before match and was involved in cricketing affairs in interview to hindu business line ,We do not even need to go to ownership.

It is worth remembering that in a 2011 interview with the Hindu Business Line, Meiyappan said the following: “Before every game, Dhoni, Fleming and I exchange our elevens at 5.45 p.m. (for the night matches).” And this: “Fleming and I spent countless hours in the lead-up to the auction. In the last three days, we conducted mock auctions, picked around 45 different combinations.” That certainly sounds like Meiyappan had a lot to do with the cricketing affairs of CSK. It suggests either Dhoni or Meiyappan was not telling the whole truth about the nature of the latter's association with the team. The facts would suggest it is Meiyappan who is telling the truth, not Dhoni.

Only thing clear is that he was indeed a cricket enthusiast. :winky: There is a big difference between a cricket enthusiast and "just" a cricket enthusiast. :winky: Also it may not be clear to you but the Mudgal committee concluded in clear terms that Meiyappan was the team owner/team principal of CSK. There are no two ways about that.

There may not be enough evidence to land him in trouble in this case but as a cricket fan I can't trust him now. I hope that he's not involved in any corruption as it will be a big blow to Indian cricket in general. I am not contesting he lied under oath which is a grievous mistake. I said 'hopefully' whatever he said was under duress. My trust in him, is on him not fixing or betting on matches.

If you don't trust the findings of the committee which concludes the role of Meiyappan in no uncertain terms, that's your problem. The legal system of the country is going to take it seriously. That's what matters in the end, not some random yoda on the internet.

That doesn't mean one never questions their decision or the evidence presented before them.

Regardless, it was concluded that Meiyappan was not just an enthusiast as Dhoni and others claimed. He regularly took part in team affairs in the capacity of the team owner.
