Ranatunga would never have made his way into an Indian test side' date= leave alone play for 18 years. I bet you would have loved to have Ranathunga in your side.

Midfielder Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 This is biggest problem for India from a sports point of view. No one should care if Tendulkar has more runs or Sangakarra has more. Cricket is a team sport and overall wins are more important. I personally dont mind if Sanga has the record. For long term good of Indian cricket individuals should not be glorified.

No, who wants a test batsman averaging in the mid 30s, when we had Tendu, Azhar, Vengsarkar, Vishy, Ganguly etc playing in the middle order? Even Manjrekar and Kambli could not cement their spots in the side. But Aravinda could have challenged some of these players for a spot in the Indian side.
