vijay50 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I just realized SL players not playing this year IPL and instead Jayasuriya scheduled test series against England at same time, followed by test series against SA, Pakistan etc. Overall I see Lanka playing more tests this year. Jayasuriya sneakily backstabbing India, but telling outwards they are with big 3.Sangakkara always lamented that they are not playing enough test cricket for last 2 years. So if lanka plays 12-13 tests every year, I can see Sangakkara overtaking Sachin in next 4 years in tests, form and fitness permitting.
panther Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Every Pakistanis new adopted son, after lara and recently kallis.

Unless SLC or Jayasuria manage to change his decision, he has already played his last test in SL. So be at peace :cantstop:

kaptaan Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 hayden : ponting will surpass sachin's centuries kp : cook will surpass sachin.... seen enough of this :--D still there is nearly 5k gap....scoring runs against SA,ENG aint as easy as scoring runs against bangla :giggle:
kaptaan Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Every Pakistanis new adopted son' date=' after lara and recently kallis.[/quote'] so when are you going to adopt ABD ?
Cricket_Hacker Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 cook will get closer's to sachin's tally this summer expect 600 runs againt us and 200-300 against Lanka
velu Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 he is almost 37 .. cant see him closing sachin but its highly improbable for him to retire with lower average than sachin and wats the problem if he overtakes sachin ..
SLICKR392 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 if he stays in asia' date=' im sure he will[/quote'] This! This HTB has got around 5-6 tons outside SL. There is a reason why he isn't rated highly along with other greats despite his good avg. and runs.
bulbul Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 This! This HTB has got around 5-6 tons outside SL. There is a reason why he isn't rated highly along with other greats despite his good avg. and runs. Sangakkara is better than what you wrote.
BlueBee Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 This! This HTB has got around 5-6 tons outside SL. There is a reason why he isn't rated highly along with other greats despite his good avg. and runs. Exactly!
saneindian Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Hope he goes on to play for another 3-4 years. Looks good enough, is very fit and in excellent form. It's a pity that Lanka have played just 50 tests in the last 7 years when Sanga has been at his peak. Could so easily have played another 25 tests by now, scoring 1500 more runs and at least 7-8 more test 100s which would have got him closer to Sachin. But with his present numbers, if SL do play 35-40 tests in next 3-4 years, he will get closer but end his career with around 45 100s and 1500 runs short of Sachin's tally.
rageaddict Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Sanga averages 60 in Australia , 66 in NZ and 87 in Pakistan. These are not figures of a HTB. His averages in England and SA are 30 and 35 and hopefully by the end of the next tours , both these averages will be over 40.
TheWall Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Every Pakistanis new adopted son' date=' after lara and recently kallis.[/quote'] why? pakis don't have their own sons?????
