Forever Indian Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Hi guys, please suggest me the best way to host a website including estimated prices. There should be paypal payment also to be linked to the website as a means for cash transaction. PS. This query is for one of my relatives based in UK.
gattaca Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Lot of people I know use godaddy. The prices ranges from 13 to 15 per year. I dont about others there is also lot of coupons online for godaddy. I heard you get close half off the list price or more. http://www.godaddy.com/
Crookbond Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Don't use GoDaddy! They are evil and extort money if they are in leverage. In fact, don't even go to their website and search for your domain name. Once you do, they will block it themselves and ask you to pay a higher price to "release" the name. Beware! There are many alternative methods/sites including hosting on Dropbox or Google Drive.
ganeshran Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 GoDaddy is a good domain name registrar but probably the worst host. Don't go by their cheap prices , they host hundreds of thousands of websites on the same server. If you want .NET hosting, WinHost is good, for Linux - Hostgator is recommended in shared hosting. For VPS - Linode, Rackspace, DigitalOcean are good. Paypal integration doesn't come out of the box unless you are selling through ebay. You have to apply for an account with a payment gateway (e.g. ccavenue) and they will charge some fees and give you the endpoints for integration
DomainK Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 When it comes to webhosting, remember, cheap is not good. Same with web development. Do not go for cheap web hosts and cheap website developers.

Forever Indian Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 http://www.justhost.com/ http://www.hostgator.com/ How good are these? What's your recommendation?
