Download from sites like ThePirateBay or KAT or YIFYtorrents etc and check the comments before downloading. In case of movies try as much as possible to go for movies provided by YIFY - the quality is always superb and the size is usually small and no viruses. The only thing I have got on my Laptop is Microsoft Security Essentials and I haven't had any problem with my Laptop or my Browser in a long, long time. If you don't have much stuff then just format your system, get a good antivirus and be careful while installing stuff (i.e. do click any box before reading what exactly it will install) and you should be fine - no need for any other software. TPB, KAT do have lots of Indian movies (though mostly Hindi).
