So what would be your squad for the first odi? Here's mine Ganguly Tendulkar Gambhir Sehwag Yuvraj Dhoni Uthappa Pathan Harbhajan Zaheer Khan RP Singh or Ganguly Tendulkar Sehwag Yuvraj Dhoni Uthappa Pathan Harbhajan Zaheer Khan RP Singh Sreesanth I prefer the first one

We MUST play 7 batsman, especially with the early morning movement and the possibility of quick wickets. I dont see the utility of playing Gambhir unless he opens. He needs the fielding restrictions to get away with chances he takes early on the innings, My eleven would be, Sachin Ganguly Sehwag Yuvraj Uthappa Dhoni Praveen Kumar Irfan RPS Zak Karthik Praveen Kumar is known to swing the ball both ways and will be hard to play in these conditions, while Karthik has proven to be more wicket-taking than Bhajji. Sehwag, if he plays, is important at no.3 because if Sachin gets out early, we need someone to attack to complement Ganguly. Having said that, apart from the openers , i dont see any other batsman having the capability to negotiate the moving ball and some good bowling. Damn, we might miss Dravid badly.

I am quite sure Praveen Kumar was selected with the seamer-friendly conditions in mind. He can get away with some average bowling because the conditions will accentuate his effectiveness .

if praveen is selected for tomorrowz game, i just hope he doesn't come to bowl in the starting...he should be used as 2nd change or perhapz 1st.. he doesn't have that much pace like sree or zak or say r.p..

no way kumar opens the bowling.... he will bowl as a 5th bowler if played...after karthiik..

i personally think that sehwag is a waste lower down the order....either send him in as an opener or don't play him at all.....he is a dangerous player
