Pawar is supporting BJP in the hope that they will be lenient in the various corruption cases against NCP leaders. Lets see what happens...
that's the danger 20 seats in viderbha voted for the BJP because they vowed to bring Pawar to justice for the irrigation scam. You take support from Pawar its fair to say you can kiss a minimum of 10 of those seats goodbye. So the BJP will have to make gains in other places.

incredible shiv sena seeks leader of opposition post and simultaneously is continuing dialogues with the bjp to join government. Seriously Udhaav make for freaking mind up. This has gone too long. BJP should either give Uddhav what he is after or they should cut the chord. Dont do this half and half thing. This is probably why dynasty is a poor road to go down. Bal T once he made a choice he stuck by it. Udhav changes his mind more than a chameleon. I am starting to thing the BJP will be better off with reelection. They should get the 145 on their own next time around.

and its sad to see this situation in maharashtra The scions such as Uddhav and Ajit are not half the men Bal T and Sharad Pawar were. You get a feeling long term the sena and the ncp is going to be absorbed by the bjp and congress respectively.

Its no so much confusion by Uddhav as much as a face saving effort. He desperately wants to join the Govt bcoz he knows that if BJP gets to rule on its own once then Shiv Sena will be finished BUT as of now it seems BJP (rightly) does not want to give many important portfolios while it would be quite embarrassing for Shiv Sena to join the Govt but take only small portfolios....hence this conundrum. I hope BJP forms a govt on its own - Shiv Sena should not be part of the govt. They are thugs and don't deserve to be part of the govt.

Be ready for snap polls, Sharad Pawar tells cadre

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar dropped a political bombshell on Tuesday saying the stability of the nascent BJP government in Maharashtra was not his party's responsibility. "The NCP cadre should be prepared for snap elections," Pawar said in inaugural speech at the two-day Chintan Shibir (introspection session) in Alibaug. He said that BJP-led government is a minority one. BJP has 121 MLAs, Sena 63, Congress 42 and the NCP 21 in the 288-members of state Assembly. "Earlier there was a possibility that the BJP and Shiv Sena would come together to form a stable government. But it does not seems so. Also, Congress and NCP are not in position to form the government," said Pawar. Pawar said NCP extended outside support to the BJP for the sake of a stable government. "However, it is not our duty to provide stability. It is the responsibility of the BJP. Besides, the BJP did not have the courage take our support while proving majority on the floor of the House," he said. The current political situation is volatile and uncertain. Therefore, there is a huge possibility of mid term elections in state. The BJP itself may also come up with this idea of snap polls sooner or later," Pawar said.

Won't pull down Maharashtra government, says NCP chief Sharad Pawar A day after his remarks about snap polls in Maharashtra created ripples, NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday said it was not his intention to topple the Devendra Fandnavis-led BJP government in the state. "We don't have any interest in toppling this government," Pawar said, addressing the concluding function of the two-day conclave of senior NCP leaders which began at this coastal town on Tuesday. "I did not speak anything different than what I said earlier that we don't have any interest in pulling down the government. But if Maharashtra's interests are not being protected, any party will take a stance," Pawar said. "But this does not mean that we are out to pull down the government," he said. "We can be emphatic if the state government is not taking the right decision or if a legislation is not agreeable," he said. "But the picture painted after my yesterday's speech is exaggerated. We have been given a mandate to sit in opposition. We are ready to take to the streets for any issue which is in the interest of people," he said. But this does not mean that we want to create instability. On Narendra Modi's style of functioning, Pawar said, "We don't know about the product but the marketing is excellent." Referring to PM's US and Australia visits, Pawar said, "Modi said he started the Janadhar scheme. But an RTI query shows there is zero balance in 74 per cent of the accounts under the scheme." "However, we have been hearing a lot about it," he said. "We must concede that no one can beat Modi when it comes to marketing even a small product," Pawar said. At Baramati poll rally, Modi asked people to overthrow "slavery" (of Pawars), but our winning margin rose to over 90000. In Tasgaon, where Modi addressed a poll rally, R R Patil's victory margin was over 20000 instead of the usual 3000 to 4000, he said. "We must concede that Modi used media effectively. This is specially true in case of social media," he added. The drought situation in Maharashtra will get worse in the coming months and we have to take serious efforts to tackle it, Pawar said. Pawar said there should be a family-like atmosphere and internal communication within NCP. "I appeal to you to build the party through membership drive and make serious efforts to take all sections of society with us," Pawar said. "In the two-day deliberations, we dwelt on our poll performance and the impact of social media through an elaborate presentation," he said, adding, "we have to focus on social media." "Some like Chhagan Bhujbal said they no longer believe there is a connect between developmental work done and poll results," he said. "Someone said he implemented Rs 12 crore scheme in a village but did not get votes from there," he said. "This does not mean that we should abandon the mission to engage in developmental work," he said. People support us because of the attention we pay to developmental work, he said. Times have changed. People want quick results, Pawar said. "We should think differently while putting forth people's issues. We have to ensure that sugarcane growers get remunerative price for their produce, he said. "We may not be in power, but we should put forth people's issues effectively," Pawar said. Pawar ridiculed "experts" on TV debates, saying "there are the same four-five faces who speak on every topic." Citing TV debates on his remarks on snap polls yesterday, he said "the propaganda that we want to topple this government in wrong."

this bjp shiv sena tu tu main main needs to end seriously its less painful than ross and Rachel in friends. BJP and the sena will both shed voters like no tomorrow if the stutus quo continues. The message for the bjp is simple. Either take the sena on board and give them meaningfull ministers or go alone and close the chapter on the sena. Currently BJP ministers are making statements in the effect of having the sena on board but the sena says we wont budge on key ministries. I somehow doubt the sena or bjp will take the seats they got last election if the vote is called again. expect the sena to get 40 and the bjp to get about 100. Voters are getting sick of reading the will they wont they
