In your view what are the few great tactical changes made by the captain of a team . Few of them which I can think of are: 1. Martin Crowe asking Deepak Patel to open bowling during 1992 World Cup 2. Martin Crowe asking Greatbach to open the batting. 3. Ranantunga sending Jayasurya as opener during mid 90's. 4. Bradman reversed the batting order He observed that the pitch was hell to bat on as it was pretty damp. So, when his specialist batsmen would come out to bat the pitch would be dry. 5. Sourav Ganguly asking Virender Sehwag, formerly a middle-order batsman, to open the innings for India in test matches. How many matches did that single move win for us? 6. Saurav Ganguly promoting VVS Lakshman to come down at # 3 (instead of #6) in the Famous Eden gardens test.. Lakshman scored 281 and India won the match even after following on 7. Saurav Ganguly : By making Rahul Dravid wicket keeper. Please come up with your observation of watching cricket which you consider as great tactical move by a captain.

Dhoni giving the last over to Joginder Sharma in the finals.
I would rather call it a gamble not a tactics. It had no significance or value creation with respect to future of Indian Cricket.

Dhoni promoting himself in WC final. Dhoni sending Pujara at 3 even with Dravid in the side. Giving Jogi last over in WT20 final and Ishant 18 th over in CT final. Dhoni employing 8-1 off side field against Aus to stem the run flow.
