gs Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 First Sami and now Katmal?!? Damn! big blow to India's chances! He is so important in the scheme of things :D
gs Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 My vote is with Daadiwala MoYo for Pak test captaincy!
ali0786 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 If that is true, then I am extremely happy!
theguyinallblue Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 i think..he has been dropped...and this is only an excuse to get a replacement...
Prudent Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 It's true! http://www.cricketnext.com/news/akmal-ruled-out-of-odi-series/27829-13.html
Bumper Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Thumb injury ?:hysterical: How did he injure his thumb, dropping all the catches & conceding all the byes ?:haha:
Predator_05 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Who will replace him ? His catch to dismiss Tendulkar yesterday was brilliant.
fineleg Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Sarfraz Ahmed will replace him. U-19 keeper*captain* (reasonably good head on shoulder), 20 year old, very good knocks against Aus-A. Inform young player.
PaiN_KiLLeR Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Nice excuse by the team management pack him back home.
Dhondy Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 He would have hurt us with his batting. He's won or saved two Tests against us- saved the one at Mohali, and won it for Pakistan from a hopeless situation at Karachi. Pakistan will find it difficult to replace his batting. I get the distinct impression that the team management lost patience with him. He kept all the way to the end today, so the injury couldn't have been serious.
guju24 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Breaking news... Out of the series...apparently because of thumb injury.... its just a excuse...they kicked him out since he was out of form...lol :haha:
zubinpepsi Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 :hysterical: @ thumb injury.... nice coverup by the PCB.... difficult times for ganguly now.. hes goner for the rest of the matches within 3 overs ...
Guest dada_rocks Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 sa england or aussie keeper didn't give him life but he scored against them all in recent times
theguyinallblue Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 he has used all his lady luck..all his tantrik puja will not save him in australia..where he will be fried with pace and bounce of Lee and Johnson..
Prudent Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 :hysterical: @ thumb injury.... nice coverup by the PCB.... difficult times for ganguly now.. hes goner for the rest of the matches within 3 overs ... :hysterical:
ludhianvi Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 So will he back for the Tests? He's played some handy knocks against India in the Tests. I reckon he was under too much pressure. Seems like new wicky is Sarfaraz, their u-19 captain from the world cup
fineleg Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 :hysterical: @ thumb injury.... nice coverup by the PCB.... difficult times for ganguly now.. hes goner for the rest of the matches within 3 overs ... Yep!!!

Most of these folks who are touted as the next BIG stars, dont last beyond an year or two. Look at their openers -- Taufeeq Umar, Imran Nazir for example, or their fast bowling prospects -- Mohd Zahid, Mohd Sami or their MO bats -- Asim Kamal. Like all these ephemerals, Akmal had his brief moments in the sun. He is the most overrated wicket keeper batsman of the current lot. Check his overseas record, its absolutely shocking! His exit will worry India, as we'll lose the luxury of Akmal both behind & infront of the stumps.
