Dhoni's English Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Air Deccan is one of the WORST out there from what I've heard. Never fly in that. Tis cheap tho. £25 from Bombay to Dabolim. Jet was the best for comfort and even a meal on a one hour flight.

Dhoni's English Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 How long you stayed in goa? I don't arrive until 6 am 11th of December. Which IMO is an ideal time to land. Only problem last January they made us stay in the plane after landing for an hour because we didn't have anywhere to park the plane, as the domestic flights at that busy time took preferance. As you can imagine when we finally disembarked it was heaven. This will be my 6th trip to Goa and sometimes i stay with a local family for 75 rupees a night for the whole season. First visit was 1993 and the changes are enormous. Too many touristy 'package holiday' types that don't help with the small chai shops one iota. You'll find the 'travellers' spend their money with the smaller self-reliant eateries.:two_thumbs_up:

If I could find some work or even study there's no way jose i would go back to the UK. Any ideas? Actually I'd definitely consider voluntary work. In 2005/6 I stayed in Anjuna and took 2 cricket bats with me and arranged a cricket match with all the young Karnatican children on some waste ground, nearly every morning at about 8 O'Clock. By 11 am I was perspiring so much I had to stop play till about 5pm. When it was time for the families to return to Hampi they all called where I lived and waved goodbye from their vehicles. Needless to say it brought tears to my eyes. Some of the young childrens' English was impeccable too. Hope that doesn't sound patronising.
