There are no seats assigned on the boarding passes. People rush up to board and start sitting on seats they like. Some people were throwing towels/books to hold the seats for people they know. Anybody knows if it is still the case?

Anybody knows if it is still the case? What ! People threw towels/books to hold seats ? :haha: Surely , there must atleast be a boarding order , like all As first , Bs next and C the third and so on.

The computer does it. May be the seat assignment is a paid feature in that software. Anyway, I saw people reserving seats just like they do in RTC buses.

How hard could it be to assign the boarding order on the passes ? The guys who print out their boarding passes first ( either online or at the flight counter) , get the priority , as simple as that. It doesnt take an Einstein to do this. Sigh.. when will our junta learn to show a bit more pedigree ! The stupid "Me First" attitude rearing its ugly head again, even though these morons know that its a plane with limited seating capacity and not some govt bus that takes in as many as it can !

theguyinallblue Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 its all because of business... by not allocating seat numbers...no one would know..how many seats were booked...and these people can report back to AAI that seats were not full..and save on taxes and all that.. i read about this fraud of deccan..in a newspaper.. and DGCA and AAI have made it compulsory for all airlines to print seat no on its ticket.. someairlines..asked for some time..because of software updation and all that... man..imagine the scene..a person throwing his shoes on a corner seat ..and a perfect basket...:haha:

Now, in many sectors , the economy class air-ticket is cheaper than the first class railway ticket. IIRC , when Air Deccan was first inaugurated, they had asked an AP minister to fly on its first flight. The plane's take-off was aborted half-way through due to some engine problems ! :haha: There have been massive complaints of over-booking , ticketed passengers being turned back , over-aged pilots about AD though.
theguyinallblue Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 hey..now its all fine...AIR Dhakkan is now "simplyfly deccan" with a beautiful and colourful Kingfisher bird painted on its tail... service has improved.....prices have gone up a bit... cabin crew now wear much smarter dress...and as is customary ...also provide services to Mallaya..:giggle:

There will be bigger problems than just customer service. I have a feeling they are really not paying attention to flight safety and maintenance, upkeep etc. That will be bad if they have not done a good job in making sure the fleet is well maintained.

First class A/C railway ticket invariably always gets filled through some quota.. MLA?MP railway officers freedom fighter yada yadad.. nobody buys those tickets
