shortbread
well you going down road of what could have happened. Fact is we drew that test and won the test series Sorry but we can count NZ and Windies and also pakis. Facts are we got to number 1 in tests with 6 batsman i.e laxman at 6. Now you want jokers like binny at 6. We had amazing batting line up and still had 6 front line batters. Now we have suspect batting line up people want only 5 front line batters!!! Madness We had Zaheer on a song when we played 4 bowlers, didn't have to bowl 3 days at a stretch in those days!! At the present moment 5 frontline batsmen make sense because of the present lot only 5 are real frontline batsmen: Dhawan, Vijay, Pujara, Kohli & Rahane. Adding the likes of nohit or GG to this lineup is as effective as adding a part time batsman, the like of Ashwin, Binny, Jadega, they are all equally bad. Atleast with the part-timers we have bowling options. SA and NZ played the waiting game with our bowlers, then they pounced on them once the 4 grew tired. It was most evident when Mcullum was quiet at first then let loose, the bowlers looked lost and tired. 4 Indian bowlers at present cant take 20 wickets, they dont have the skill or energy. If thats the case the batting lineup of 5 will have to stand up and deliver. Because having 5 or 6 batsmen wont make a difference chasing 500 odd runs Link to comment

Sachin=GOD
All I know is this even tailender will bat as well as next laxman ..rohit .. Kane Williamson averaged around 31 after 25 tests but NZ cricket knew that he had the talent so they persisted. Rohit has played just 10 innings (where he has made 2 hundreds and a fifty) and people just want to drop him. This is why we don't get good batsmen or bowlers who can last for a few years - we simply don't persist long enough with the good ones. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Binny better bat than M - that much I know :agree: Well let him him put the gloves on then!! He is probably better keeper then bowler. And if we are not looking for people who can bowl or bat, why not have someone who cant really keep and is bits and pieces keeper Link to comment

But we've persisted with the guy in ODI's with hardly any results, now you want to go that route in tests as well Link to comment
ThePhenomenal1
if you really want to go at england, you would play pankaj who has taken wickets and bowled well. only upside is that ishant has to deliver cause he's most "experienced". if he fails, could be curtains Link to comment

Sachin=GOD
But we've persisted with the guy in ODI's with hardly any results' date='now you want to go that route in tests as well[/quote'] Tests are different from ODIs. And its not as if he has done nothing at all in Tests - he has got just 10 innings so far in which he has made 2 hundreds and a fifty. I would most certainly give him more chances. Link to comment
CommonMan
IF we don't play Ishant, we will do much better. Binny is inform player and needs to get his first cap :D Jai Dhoni! Link to comment

shortbread
Tests are different from ODIs. No he's equally useless in both. Why cant the marathi manhoos tribe be happy Rahane is playing, rather than insist on nohit!! And its not as if he has done nothing at all in Tests - he has got just 10 innings so far in which he has made 2 hundreds and a fifty. ........ The biggest crime WI cricket ever committed is have this clown make runs against them!! Link to comment
Captain India
Won't be surprised if Dhoni bats well in this tour. I have read an interview in which he said that he is going to play his natural game. That's the right way to go imo. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
For those wanting 5 bowlers and dropping of Rohit. Then frigging pick a 5th bowler, not Binny. Link to comment

Ok..so lets remove those tests - now he is left with just 8 innings. Now if Indian fans want to drop players based on 8 innings then the only thing I can say is- we deserve to have Indian cricket in the pathetic condition that it is in today. No he's equally useless in both. Why cant the marathi manhoos tribe be happy Rahane is playing' date= rather than insist on nohit!! I'm not a marathi. Link to comment
