Dhoni is the worst captain I have ever seen in test matches away from home.nobody comes close in being more incompetent than dhoni.dhoni has no bussines being the test captain after such an abysmal record.he's the most uninspiring and hopeless figure in that test team but sadly he'll continue as the captain for more years and we cricket fans 'who actually watch test matches' have to bear with this nincompoop!!

What are the odds of him being booted out or stepping down as the captain if lose the next match? Hopefully we win and he steps down. Which would be THE most far fetched scenario in the history of Indian cricket.

Zero chance. There is no way they are dropping him in any format before the 2015 WC. Moreover, it is happening in Australia. Which makes a stronger case for him to go early, and get used to the conditions before the World Cup.

That is my opinion. Dhoni' date=' to me comes across as someone who does not care strongly enough about these losses and the manner in which they are losing. I expect the captain to be a bit more introspective and honest. [b']He was quick to take credit for Lord's but never accepts any negative about his captaincy and always comes up with an excuse. I certainly won't support someone who says that he's happy with the progress or it does not matter how many days it takes, a loss is a loss after a defeat within 2 days and 1 session. One can defend him by saying that he's not supposed to reveal everything in press conferences but I don't take that argument. He is not being honest to the people who support the team and overall sending a very meek and defensive signal. As I have said a number of times before, I also think Dhoni is tactically not good enough to lead a test side. His role as captain should be limited to limited overs and even then in conditions that favor pace bowling he would struggle tactically. The reason why I talked about Ganguly was because he came at a very delicate time in Indian cricket with match fixing etc and also the team was losing both home and away. It was basically the same team that lost to Australia 0-3 and then to SA in India. He had that in him transform the team mentally to perform well overseas. He was certainly not perfect (I myself criticized him for being defensive in Sydney a few days ago) but in my eyes he deserves credit for that. The approach in facing teams like Australia changed and Ganguly instilled that belief in the team. You come across as a Ganguly hater, so I don't expect you to agree with me, but there are many who would take a Ganguly over Dhoni at this point. When you are engaging with me in a one to one discussion, I expect you to address the issues that I have raised or things that I have said; otherwise mention it specifically. I don't speak for all of ICF.
I agree about Dhoni everything except that point. He said it was a "team effort".

Watch his post match presentation interview with Atherton. He made it very clear that it was his plan to bowl short and Ishant was reluctant. Had that tactic failed, I am pretty sure we wouldn't have known that. For example in the first test one would assume that it was Dhoni's idea to continuously bowl short to Anderson but then there was no mention of it afterwards.

That generic statement ,If he could take credit for tactics which worked publicly he would also put his hand up when his tactics did not work in last 2 tests.

I was obviously talking about taking credit for a captaincy move. Otherwise no captain would come out and say that the win belongs to him alone.
