Told You Guys - No Point Going With A Walking Wicket Opener

I don't trust Binny's bowling. Doesn't have the consistency to bowl properly. This is where Jaddu-Ashwin tandem would have helped India. The match is anyway gone after that batting performance but we could have fought with that combo.

Absolutely' date=' that is the only yardstick you can go by.[/quote'] yeah go by IPL for Test cricket instead of Ranjis :hatsoff:

Don't know whats going to happen to you guys here in Australia, this is pathetic, aren't the players, BCCI etc embarrassed by this? So disgraceful, seriously if this is what people in Australia are going to see when India come, I can guarantee you that 99% of Aussies won't want India here.
even many indian fans( inc me)also dont want this team to go to aust and get humiliated there::sad:

Duleep yes ranji never. It is very skewed. IPL did show that Kohli was going to fail and he did. IPL is much better yardstick.

same guy was trying to convince everyone the angry dwarf would score a lot of runs in this match :hysterical:
Kohli and Pujara really have set this world on fire too. The perpetual defenders of these two should be ashamed.

What about Uthappa? Owned everyone in IPL. Got owned in Australia by their A team bowlers.

Good point, but stats should never be used in isolation. I wwas surprised by his performance in Australia but you cannot claim Kohli would have done better. The guys who have generally done better in IPL have performed too, e.g. Bhuvi, Manan etc.

One doesn't need to be statistically the best in domestics (it goes beyond stats) but one must have decent performances in domestic cricket. Also some don't have the skills to do well in LOI or some just don't do well in LOI. For eg - Umesh Yadav looks average in most IPL tourneys but he is a gem in Tests.

I have to go out of town but if you look up IPL stats they show a trend. Indian batting in shambles and Bhuvi and Aaron better than other bowlers. trends are there to be seen if applied carefully. IPL did clearly show that India does not have good batsman and bowling is not the problem. Ranji is a huge cluster **ck. Those stats are meaningless to me but Duleep does make sense. Binny should not be withing 1000 mile radius of the team.

Some weight age can be given to ranji but no one cares abt ranji. I am not sure how many Ranji matches have you seen but when I went to see those games I was one of the dozen people who showed up. This makes IPL more meaningful. As far as Umesh is concerned he may not be the best in containing. have a nice day.
