CSK Fan Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 what's wrong in what he said? Because he was clearly supporting the captain too and did not want any changes including the captaincy
Cricket_Hacker Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Apart from Umesh yadav missing, this is our best team.Nothing wrong with what he said. Lol at all those calling him a paid stooge, the truth is hard to digest.
vayuu1 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 dude thats the sad part. this is the best ****ing team we have No way man ,don't tell me there aren't better openers than Dhawan, middle order batsmen than rohit sharma, spinners than jadeja, pacers than pankaj singh, why not give chance to newbies like kl Rahul, jadhav,Samson, zol, bumrah, dhawal kulkarni umesh yadav,Rasool, kuldeep yadav,Rishi Dhawan and karan sharma.

Lol at all those calling him a paid stooge, the truth is hard to digest. The thing is this the best team with big names, what we need is guys with hunger to succeed, gritty characters this lot is filled with too many satisfied chumps when ur stomach is filled why would u care,it's the one who wants it badly who wants to play for india should be given chances.
vayuu1 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I will take a team with gritty characters and never say die attitude over these pansies any day.
kosingh Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Shastri makes me sick. After missing from the commentary list for the first four tests, he was rushed in for the fifth test to do some damage control.
zep1706 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Amarnath wanted to appoint Sehwag as captain who wasn't even fit enough to be in the team by the end of 2012. :hysterical: Amarnath only knows one line of thinking "Jigar se khelo". Your defense of Dhoni is getting more and more ridiculous. So instead of blaming Srinivasan for overturning a decision from the selection committee you have decided to attack Amarnath? According to Amarnath it was a unanimous decision and if I am not mistaken he had Kohli in mind not Sehwag. Regardless, the board president has no business to overrule the decision of the selectors. We all know the reason why he did it.

You need to understand that I want him sacked from the Test/T20 team and as captain in all formats. But that seems to be to difficult to register in your mind. Once you have no argument about Amarnath, you hold the Dhoni card. There's no reason to believe Amarnath's statement. You are assuming that Srinivasan overturned a decision which may not have happened. Your knowledge about the incident is rigged; it was Sehwag that would have been the captain. Kohli played his second tour in Australia 2012. Selectors wanted Sehwag to replace Dhoni: Amarnath http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/53702/selectors-wanted-sehwag-to-replace-dhoni-amarnath
Crookbond Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 We had lost 4-0 in two consecutive overseas series' - I think that would have been reason enough for the selectors to want M out. In 14 innings he played in those 2 series', he made 322 runs - so his batting also wasn't good by any means. Seeing all these factors I believe Amarnath was telling the truth. And how was Sehwag performing, remind me? If you believe it is true, decision to replace Dhoni by Sehwag was stupid. Amarnath also came out only after he was booted out of the selection committee.
indiefan Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 Another selector had also backed Amarnath's claim that time. www.timesnow.tv/Raja-Venkat-backs-Amarnath/videoshow/4416609.cms Anyway, we need to look beyond TINA factor and bring in someone else as captain.

Once you have no argument about Amarnath' date=' you hold the Dhoni card.[/quote'] You did say that but you seem to be defending Dhoni all day everywhere, so that raises questions in one's mind if that's a mere "mercy killing"? It does not matter who they were intending to replace Dhoni with. The decision of team selection must be left to the selectors and the board president (with no cricketing background might I add) should not interfere with it. (That report does not have Amarnath's quotes, this one does with a video interview of Amarnath, where he clearly said that it was Kohli- So my version is certainly not rigged. http://ibnlive.in.com/news/cricketnext/srinivasan-stopped-dhonis-sacking-reveals-amarnath/368494-78.html) Secondly Amarnath's history and character do not have anything controversial that would suggest that he might be lying. Moreover people like Gavaskar came out and applauded Amarnath for showing "courage" (:haha:) despite not agreeing with him. Also Srikanth criticized Amarnath for going public with it but he DID NOT deny his version. I would any day believe a clean former cricket like Amarnath over the crooks at BCCI like Srinivasan and Rajeev Shukla.
King Tendulkar Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Working well for ravi, got a promotion for all his efforts to defend the nexus of evil:two_thumbs_up:

If you are blaming Dhoni (or Kohli or Tendulkar) for not curing cancer, I will defend them. I am out here for Dhoni as a captain in Tests/ODIs/T20Is (and out of the T20I team at least) but then some people (not you) have an agenda and start snow balling batsh!t kaanspiracy theories. Dhoni didn't deserve spot in Test side, Sehwag did though somehow 2. Dhoni doesn't deserve to play for India 3. Gambhir is a good option to lead India 4. Amarnath wasn't interested in selection after the tri-series but continued in the same position for 7 months 5. Selectors aren't responsible for the losses in England and Australia 6. He wanted new captain in all the formats of the game, not just Tests 7. A couple of days before he said, Dhoni is a great asset for the ODI team.

King Tendulkar Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 At least he wanted dhoni sacked, good enough for me
indiefan Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 Ravi Shashtri appointed director for the India-Eng series So, this is what led to Shastri's defense of the team compared to others who were critical of the performance. He wants the team to show their mettle and 'penance' in the ODIs instead of tests! 'Move on we must', he says. Just as we have been moving on for the past three of four years after every series abroad.
