Team is good but they don't have temperament to last 5 test series. They did well in SA, NZ tours and the first two tests here. They just got worse as the series progressed which shows they are still not tough enough mentally.

He is not completely wrong. There are not a whole lot of change that you can make. Get a new opener, get Yadav in, a few changes like that. But the most important change that the team needs is the change of captaincy.

Shastri bot , what else you expect. i read somewhere as Akash chopra said something against BCCI, he was dropped from commie list.

There is strong mental component in these defeats. India may do better on shorter tours but they don't seem to have the temperament to last in longer tours. In both SA and NZ, India was getting worse with every passing test, and there too they would have been routed if it had been a five test series. Once they loose the plot, they have no stomach for fight.

So seems like someone spoke. Harsha and Lal were also criticizing Dhoni in the post match show

May be the best team we have' date=' but surely not the best man for captaincy.[/quote'] Gambhir, Binny, Dhawan, Jadeja will be part of our best team? Umesh Yadav should have been there. Why not try some other spinners like Parvez Rasool OR even a Karn Sharma? What happened to Pragyan Ojha? On wicket keepers, why not try Saha?

I think after the Australia series, everyone wanted Dhoni to be removed, but Srini vetoed. Gavaskar is probably referring to that incident.

This was dhoni third tour to england dhoni has improved his batting despite having poor technique he was able to bat well in the last couple of tests so let us be patient with youngsters i am sure our team will come good in the longer run

Srinivasan vetoed it and removed Amarnath instead. This is complete mafia raj. http://www.thehindu.com/sport/cricket/amarnath-paid-the-price-for-taking-on-the-bcci-chief/article4196227.ece

This is what Amarnath had said at that time. It is true even today. “Dhoni was defensive, allowing things to drift and not leading from the front."

Amarnath wanted to appoint Sehwag as captain who wasn't even fit enough to be in the team by the end of 2012. :hysterical: Amarnath only knows one line of thinking "Jigar se khelo".

At least he wanted M$D out. That could have been a new start but for Srini's veto.

Yaar please, these at least he wanted this nd at least he wanted that - lets keep it aside. Amarnath's judgment and his decision to speak after he completed his selection term is quite questionable. He can say Jigar se khelo but before that he needs to show some jigar to speak up himself. In fact, we have no idea that something like that happened. Considering the timing of Amarnath's "speak up", I have doubts over him.

In 14 innings he played in those 2 series', he made 322 runs - so his batting also wasn't good by any means. Seeing all these factors I believe Amarnath was telling the truth.

Says this is the best team that we have? Everyone' date=' be patient for 3 or 4 years. Seems like he got a SMS from Srini.:whack:[/quote'] what's wrong in what he said?
