Precambrian
I think we very much need a coach that makes sure the basics are done right. He cannot make Indians players catch a cricket ball. But he can make sure slips are not standing too far back. He can make sure distance between slips is appropriate. He can make sure the team is working on shining the ball. There are numerous examples like these which show the complete absence of cricketing basics. These are things that should be taught at school level. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
The more I think about it' date=' the more I don't want a coaching change. Fletcher has been poor, no doubt. But I'm afraid the BCCI might make someone like Shastri the coach.[/quote'] :giggle: Link to comment

ZeroBlack
Langer tough as nails, never say die attitude, typical Aussie, takes no **** from anyone. Would make a great coach, especially for the young kids, and loves his fast bowlers as well. Link to comment
FreakazoiD
Sourav Ganguly / Anil Kumble as head coach. Allan Donald as bowling coach. Link to comment

moniker
Kumble might have conflict of interest, was director of player management firm Tenvic and probably still is. Link to comment

GolGappe
Ganguly would make a good manager - Sort of role that Shastri will be playing. Fleming would make a good coach but his deep ties with CSK worry me. A CSK cap is already a shortcut to Indian team. Link to comment

virufan
Lalchand Rajput if they are looking out for Indian coach. As far as i know he is the only level A certified Indian coach. He also has coached the Indian national team in past as well as knows a lot of Indian young cricketers game having coached them at U-19 levels. He has a full fledged team of assistant coaches as well. Ya he has also allowed bhajji to slap Sreesanth. Link to comment
Midfielder
India fools itself by getting a coach. If a coach cannot select players he can never be effective. Link to comment
