Apparently US asked them to kill some of Pak citizens in return for the aid without which Pakistan will not have money to repay its loans and turn bankrupt ( unoficially it already is :(( )... Pak govt.( rather the army and ISI that 'runs' the country) decided to call it a fight against terrorism so that no eyebrows are raised ... Pains me to see neighbouring nation in this state :((

Now that it has spilled over, it is paining you? It did to me.
Pioneer Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 what is zarb e azb? their fight against terrorism? The name for the military operation launched against the TTP in North Waziristan in June. Its seemingly been successful as the TTP is broken up and on the run ( fleeing across the border to Afghanistan ). Since the Karachi airport attack (which was the catalyst for this operation to be launched ) there hasn't been any large scale terrorist attacks in public places until today which was claimed by a splinter group that broke off from the TTP

If I recall correctly, the Pak government was the one dictating terms before the operation was launched as they had asked the US to stop drone strikes while they attempted peace negotiations with the Pakistani Taliban, which the US obliged. Once the Karachi airport attack happened and the peace talks broke down, the army decided it had had enough. Your post is very Pakistani in its conspiracy-ness

I find that far-fetched but what is interesting is the target was Wagah, you don't really see these basturds attack near the Indian border. Possibly trying to make a statement or something

They can publicly request US to stop drone attacks but we have seen how much US cared in reality. With NATO forces scheduled to move out of Afghanistan and Af-Pak border, US wanted Pak Army to pick up the battle and not just eat all the money the world gives them. A volatile, instable and failed neighbor is never good for any nation. Of course, most of the current situation is self-created by Pakistan that wanted to wage a proxy war by encouraging/sending terrorists ( in name of Jihad ) to neighboring countries. It is now biting them in their back. Of course it pained me all this while to see them doing this inspite of well-meaning advise from India. There are no good and Bad terrorists as Pak is realizing now.

Innocent Pakistanis are paying the price of RADICALIZATION which started back in 1977 by a guy name Zia-Ul Haq who redefined the identity of Pakistan as resistance against "Hindu India," which lead to marginalization of minorities in Pakistan. Then in 71, Pak army with the help of these religious militants & radical parties, tried to control Bangladesh, terming them enemy of Islam and thus empowering these groups' political clout and regional influence. Also in the 70s, Ahmedis were declared non-muslims which led to greater political clout of the radical religious groups which led to legitimizing Zia's rise to power which lead to introduction of several policies giving birth to Shia-Sunni conflict which led to radical Sunni groups declaring Shia as heretics which gave birth to sectarian wars as we see them today. The sectarian hatred along with mujahideens trained in Pak, who came back fighting from Afg and Kashmir has now infiltrated Pakistan and unleashing hell all over to further their own radical agendas. Pakistan spending billions in training these jihadis, arming them to play proxy war with India instead of spending resources building schools have ensured continued destruction from within for the near future. You can blame others all you want but this was bound to happen when political policies laced with hatred were sown long time ago. Every time someone like you sitting in UK ignores the threat within and decides to blame everything on "OTHERS," you're empowering these jihadis a wee bit more thus ensuring Pak never achieves its peace.
