Batting

Rahane averaging 49 even with around 5-6 umpiring decisions going against him. For me he was the best across all tours for a no. of factors. He was touring each country for the first time and also just played his debut at home before this. He got runs everywhere unlike Kohli who had contrasting tours in England and Australia.

Bowling

Batting embarrassing esp failure of Pujara & Dhawan and bowler well one can safely say India facing crisis in this department.

Sad to see Pujara regressing to the level of almost Roshit Sharma and Dhawan.

Rahane is the undisputed leader here for all round overseas performances despite all the howlers he received. Kohli has showed that he can bat on pitches offering a bit of bounce (SA, Aus), but is susceptible when there is some movement (Eng) Pujara has unfortunately become a strokeless wonder. He was able to get starts in most of his innings, but just isn't able to get the ball off the square. And then he has a lapse of concentration. Vijay has been a big big improvement. When he thinks with a straight head, Vijay has proven that he is an opener for the long term. He has the most compact technique of all current batsmen and is ideally suited to be a long term opener. But please keep him away from ODIs/T20s as that tends to mess with how he plays in Tests. RG Sharma - Long way to go, but I feel deserves a few more chances. Dhawan - I would like to see him succeed as he can be a good aggressive foil to Vijay wearing bowlers out. But so far he has been a bit disappointing. Rahul - Too early to call Raina - Keep as far away from the team as possible.

Bowling - We always knew our bowlers were going to struggle, but we probably didn't think they were this bad. Its fair to say that right now we have the worst bowling lineup in the world (comparable perhaps to Banga boys). I still think we should give consistent domestic performers like Pankaj Singh a few more chances at least at home where he is familiar with the pitches and the SG ball.

Yes, there was definitely a psychological issue in Eng with Anderson. I think Kohli should be able to work it out in the future because he has the ability.

Also, the movement in England is different than in SA or NZ. Overcast conditions, not much of bounce, ball swings all day and more than in other countries.

In this match, when the ball was swinging, he didn't look all that comfortable. Every batsman has a country where they do poorly, and it's possible (not necessarily true) that Eng might be that for Kohli. Jinks and Kohli have done well on the whole, and Vijay has been solid. The rest of the batsmen have been poor. The less said about the bowling, the better.
