Development doesn't win you elections in the short term. BJP being the largest national party, pretty makes it the establishment. And mango man hates the establishment. It cannot go to the center because that will just make it a Congress clone and people will rather go with the sure thing then the one that is pretending to be center of the spectrum. So the only sure card left is hindutva and voter polarization.

The seculars have caught up with the BJP in the social media spectrum. The MSM was actively campaigning for AAP in this election. Did a great job of deflecting all the tough questions. What the MSM hyped up as a two horse race was essentially a handicap match.

On to the BJP - they had become way to arrogant after winning so many elections. This humiliation will hopefully check that.
