Couple of phrases in English, how not to behave or draw attention, how to behave with cops (unlike in India where you can argue with them, in US it is better to comply immediately and not make any sudden movements and show your hands at all points). Most probably the guy was reaching for a phone to call his son or for a written note but the police mistook the gesture as threatening. Of course in cases like this when police behave like @ssholes, no one could do anything.

Even with any babysitter, nobody can enjoy life having a baby. Raath ko koi babysitter nahin utha hain, doodh pilane ke liye! Did you see the video? He was just walking by and not nosing around. This is also typical desi attitude to find something wrong about desis and the white dudes have a reason for any crime. And surely old grandparents would love spending time with their kids and grand kids

If you are talking about war torn , terrorist attacked place i can understand. He was not reaching for anything. It was all a story cooked up in the process. He was just standing or walking on the sidewalk which he has the right to do. If the cops don't have basic IQ to assess whether someone is a threat or not , if so who he was threatening? then he should not be a cop. If someone is going to bring down somebody brutally based on "suspicion" from a paranoid f***tard then then he does not deserve to be a cop. That is bad police work which is why he was fired and they are going to sue his ass . That old man did nothing wrong. You cannot prepare your old man for these kind of f***ed up scenarios .

Yes, he was responding to a complaint from neighbors that they were seeing a strange guy walking around for a few days. He should've had a chat with him, maybe given him a written warning and let him go. Cops are on the edge these days. Having said all that, I contend that this is the exception, not the rule. I have lived in the rural South for 22 years and you cannot be more wrong about your stereotype that racist rednecks exist more here than any place else.

Even in this incident they have dismissed him and arrested him. Look at the bail they set for this guy. 1000$. He just walked away. Suddenly you can hear all these rednecks defending him "you know how tough the police work they die every day blah blah.." They grant total license to behave like thug. One guy wrote "Safety first then later" defending the attack.. i was like WTF.

Of course not. I have had 5 speeding tickets - all in South Georgia, rural Florida or deep rural agricultural North Carolina. I've always been treated with respect by the police officers, and I returned the favor. So, my 5 experiences more than balance out your one. Which is why we shouldn'tt get caught up in anecdotal data, but look for real data. And when the NAACP President says NY is the worst wrt racial profiling, I'll take his word over yours or mine. My point is that the South is no worse than the other states in this regard. Jumpy cops are jumpy cops - in all 50 states.

Just google top 10 most racist states in USA.. Lists may vary a bit. But overall some southern states would feature in almost all lists.

Stealing from a store is DEATH penalty now? A young man in the prime of his life? There is a reason even death penalty for terrorists need to be proved in the strictest of term in court, takes years of court hearings and the defendant is given all chances to save himself. Even after that multiple appeals can be filed And here you are justifying taking of a life for stealing and hitting someone? And you call the officer poor when he will live a happy life while the 20 year old is cut in the prime of his life? It is a seriously fecked up mentality to have when the price of a street brawl or resisting arrest is instant death. I pray to God you will never be put to such circumstances. Because I know I have. In teenage years I have been involved in street fights in Ranchi. Got into arguments with cops. Thank god I was not in the US or I would be killed for such crimes and people like you would justify it Teenagers all over the world involve in street fights. Young guys do stupid things. Even argue and fight with cops. Only in America is it punished by instant death with people supporting. And I see a lot of such justification by some Indians for some reason when for all they know, they will be the ones in similar position any day.
