SachDan
Its so sad that he is about loose 40 lakhs annualy if he continues as chairman of the selection committee.. Although the Board has verbally said that they will pay the selectors, its not a deal done. He played at a time when peanuts where on offer for representing your country and now he is loosing the freedom to write when thats his only source of income!!!!!! Link to comment
SachDan
what ???? Yes blue_brigade.. thats the reality. When Rajiv Shukla and Niranjan Shah are out doing each other to be the voice of Indian cricket on TV, they are really treating ex cricketers very very badly. Link to comment
Guest dada_rocks
Clowns like Rajeev Shukla sud be thrown out of BCCI setup... they ar leeches.. and yes selectrs sud be paid if they expect them not to earn money from other sources.. Link to comment
arkay
It seems 40 lacs to be obscene amount for writing columns (that too from Marathi daily saakal). Either the media is paying big bucks to get timely quotes from him or he is being influenced to make selection decisions. It would be preposterous to expect the board to pay this much amount for being the chief of selectors. Vengsarkar has a choice. He can either quit chairman of selectors and seek a more lucrative career. I highly doubt whether he would get the same compensation from the media if he is not chairman of selectors. That said, BCCI should be more professional and should compensate the selectors adequately for they are worth. But at the same time, the board should restrict selectors from writing / soliciting columns about Indian team as it would have conflicts. Link to comment
Ram
I wish I had become a cricketer. Even the worst player to have ever played for Ind can potentially be richer than the best engineer/doctor/lawyer Link to comment
Bumper
What a drama queen this Dungsucker is turning out to be ? He has an opportunity to write columns because he is the chief selector. Otherwise, no one will give a rat's a$$ about what he thinks (everyone knows he cannot think anyways). Where was Vengsarkar as a writer, prior to his appointment as chief selector ? BCCI must fire all these useless morons and hire a foreign selector. Link to comment

Easier - if u had become an actor (actress is easier these days - they dont 'act' much at all - just wear some small clothes and stuff) Link to comment

The price he was getting was the "extra benifits" of being the selector and for mixing around with the players manager and agents..... He should be kicked out ASAP... He probably thinks he is God...
