bones Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 So far 4 games, albeit in all of the matches the stronger side has batted first but still here are the results. Match 1: Score over 300 - win by 98 runs Match 2: Score over 300 - win by 111 runs Match 3: Score over 300 - win by 62 runs Match 4: Score 300 - win by 76 runs It doesn't bode well for the tournament. If this pattern continues it could turn into a pretty boring tournament. England and especially Pakistan have historically been bad chasers, but despite that they shouldn't be losing so badly. I was hoping for lower scores, perhaps 220-230 par scores, but once again we have another **** tournament with high scoring one sided matches. 2007 world cup was easily the worst ever, but the way this one has started I'm not holding my hopes high.
moniker Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Don't get your point. Do you just want low scoring matches or matches that are competitive? High scoring matches can get pretty close too and low scoring games can be pretty one sided too.
MCGGG Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Australia won batting second during the tri series 3 times iirc, fact is 300+ is a bloody hard score to chase because teams are much more likely to hit the panic button prematurely, in turn throwing Wkts away.
rkt.india Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Not in NZ and if its a day game. early morning, there will be something for bowlers.
