Like when one of the neighbours' daughters was kissing her boyfriend there was an uproar in our neighbourhood and everyone was talking about it. About how my brother tried to get some of the women we know to come to a club in Kolkata but was refused because they didn't want to be seen like that. Which Kolkata ur brother is living in, in my experience gals from Kolkataa are most liberal in India.. There will be uproar if u kiss openely anywhere..Take her to Ravindra-talab and there won't be any fuss, or Maidan or Victoria palace..

Tell ur brother to take that girl to places I mentioend , those are cheap places though if he wants to remain in posh area then Salt Lake city is the way to go. Judging by the increasing number of rape cases which occur in Indian cities on a daily basis (and these are just the reported ones) i can understand why girls wouldn't want to wear skimpy outfits. I remember reading a story on this by India Today back in '05. They interviewed police officers and the responses were something along the lines of; "If the women dress like that, they deserve to get raped". With that kind of neanderthal mentality existing in modern day Indian society, why should women put themselves at risk ? Besides, Indian girls just don't have the bodies to pull off something like a tight dress or a miniskirt.

Qualifying word was not "deserve", it was when woman dress like that no. of rape cases go up. They were just reporting the correlation not justifying the act.

I was talking to my brother who is currently over in India right now and he says that I wouldn't recognise it as I haven't been in ten years. Is it true that people are turning away from religion? If it is then this a good thing. Religion has been the cause of so many problems in India. beetle Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Very few Indian girls could last that long..... As for wearing short clothes....a lot of Indian girls would do it just to be in the spotlight on tv... Besides firangs dancing here are a novelty...Indians they watch 24/7 on various shows on tv.

White, black, yellow, brown or purple, i couldn't give a damn about race/ethnicity, etc. A good looking woman is a good looking woman. My comments are just based on my own observations - you don't have to take them seriously. After all, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder; what works for some, doesn't work for others.

Couple in the English language does mean two but it can also mean, 'a few'. That visit where my friend came with me was the same one I was talking about before, 1997. You caught me out, through my poor use of English. It wasn't an outright lie.
