Might just look weak on those 360/1 pitches, they're actually well off with some backup available. They have 5 seamers who can complete their quota (Johnson, Starc, Hazlewood/Cummins & 2 of Watson/Marsh/Faulkner) besides the part time spinners (Maxwell followed by Smith followed by Warner). No other team has such depth in batting as well as bowling when seamers are preferable over spinners. They could very well squeeze in 6 seamers with Faulkner at 8 coming in place of Maxwell. These aren't the Virat Kohli dibbly dobbly seamers, they (at least Watson & Marsh) can claim a place in tests as an all rounder.

No he shouldn't have! Pattinson is pretty average in 50 over cricket for staters let alone the fact we have a more important Ashes tour just after the WC.

Pretty sure he unofficially retired from ODIs, but he officially put his hand to play in the WC, he's probably in the top 5 quicks going around ATM and he has the heart of a lion.
