fineleg
Sehwag has failed again, out for 32. Too many chances given to him in domestics, NOT ONE he has converted. He can keep playing domestics until they kick him out of that as well. If they select him to Aus after this, selectors are jokers like what Jimmy Amarnath said. Link to comment

Guest Hiten.
who wanted him to replace KKD ? Link to comment
Dravid
and ppl still want him to go to aus :hahaha: Link to comment
fineleg
who wanted him to replace KKD ? Err - not me. I wanted KKD to be replaced by someone OTHER than sehwag. I've been saying that in my other thread as well. I think there are a few fans here who wanted Sehwag to go to Aus and thrash Lee, Tait, et al :giggle: Looks like Himachal Pradesh thrashed him :D He was out for 9 in first innings. Probably in the worst form ever! Link to comment
Guest Hiten.
GG is the serious candidate for opening spot, according to me that is. I seriously hope this lad gets a nod ahead of sehwag Link to comment

Probably in the worst form ever! its funny how only 2 bowlers managed to bowl out delhi in 1st inn :giggle: One more interesting thing Sehwag out bowled in 1st inn and got caught behind in 2nd inn. This means he is yet to improve his footwork, which is his extreme weakness and has been exploited by Asif in the past Link to comment
Online
I know I am going against the form book, against stats and against any sort of logic or common sense but Sehwag is key if we expect to do well in Aus - he needs to be part of the test team. Link to comment
The Outsider
Call it blind faith in a proven performer, but Sehwag must go to Australia at least as the backup opener. Link to comment
jf1gp_1
dont know what you ppl are complaining about he is 1st inning top scorer after extras. Link to comment
jacky007
GG is the serious candidate for opening spot' date=' according to me that is. I seriously hope this lad gets a nod ahead of sehwag[/quote'] i second that .... GG should get a chance in test ... GG has the potential to score big runs ... undoubtly sehwag has played big innings before but i guess he still needs more time to come back in his golden form Link to comment
Guest dada_rocks
Chalo I am not alone: Only problme of sehwag is his screwed up confidence thanks to selectors.. He will be fine if he once comes to indian eleven.. Link to comment
The Outsider
Sehwag was in poor form before he was dropped, no doubt about that and deserved to be dropped. If there is one thing I have learned from the Ganguly episode it's that proven performers and eccentrics like Ganguly and Sehwag should be dropped to jolt them out complacency, not necessarily to prove themselves in FC cricket. They are different characters from Dravid and Laxman, who when dropped will simply go back and start piling runs after runs till you are forced to select them. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Indeed, but in Ganguly's case he still did produce results in f/c cricket with the bat and ball. Sehwag's form has been alarming here, and as big a fan as I am, I can't justify picking him in the XI vs. Australia. Reserve, sure. But I'd feel a lot more secure going in with Chopra and Jaffer at the top. Link to comment
The Outsider
Indeed, but in Ganguly's case he still did produce results in f/c cricket with the bat and ball. Ganguly was a disaster right throughout the year after he was dropped after the Pakistan series in county and Indian domestic scene before he was picked for South Africa. Link to comment
dial_100
I would play my fav card here in Test.... YS...But trouble is we do not have a specialist opener....May be this line up will do fine... Jaffy RD VVS SRT SG Yuv Dho Kum Aus will find it hard to beat this team. This aint NZ, SA or SL and definitely not Eng.... this is some real serious load in Test matches guys... I just dont understand why this time is not supported against Aus.... Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Ganguly was a disaster right throughout the year after he was dropped after the Pakistan series in county and Indian domestic scene before he was picked for South Africa. Didn't he make some runs in the Ranjis/Duleeps, beside that one high profile pair vs. Zak? Link to comment
bharat297
I know it is against all logic ... but to me we need to take Sehwag on tour. Its too late to pick Gambhir for Australia. We will simply be throwing this guy into the lions den. I say either Sehwag or Chopra. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Gambhir's combination of weaknesses against the late swinging ball, probing lines outside off and a short ball tempting him to pull is going to be exploited too easily. I'd agree with Chopra or Sehwag. Or if you really feel like gambling, Pujara. Link to comment
The Outsider
Didn't he make some runs in the Ranjis/Duleeps' date=' beside that one high profile pair vs. Zak?[/quote'] I think he made one hundred for East Zone, besides that nothing, not to mention his abysmal county showing. Maybe you are referring to the previous season. Link to comment
