Guest dada_rocks Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 lol what rubbish !!! I am sure u don't even know what is being debated here:haha:
Guest dada_rocks Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Because they dont need to. In Indian politicail system Ministers are NOT at the grass root level. They are pretty much at the top of Indian Parliamentary system led by Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. And just as this bill is NOT advocating the head of Apollo Hospitals to move to villages but Junior Doctors I fail to see your argument Mandrake. To use an analogy Junior Doctors are akin to MLAs in Indian Political system and I hope we can both agree that bulk of MLAs spend a decent time in villages. Even many of the MPs for that matter hail from rural areas and spend a good amount of their time every year in village. DR is right on the money here about the Doctors. He is also very much on target that the ONLY party that would probably raise a hungama about this are the Communists. Where he is completely wrong of course is that he fails to realize is whenever there is a clash of "Personal interest" and "National Interest" in India the latter shall take a backseat. xxxx :two_thumbs_up: I am counting on communists because because this sounds conducive to their vote-bank politics. Think about it how hard it will be convince those rural folks see these urban folks voters of congress/bjp don't even want to come to serve you despite getting free education . But so far not even a pip have come from them so I guess my faith in these useless communists was misplaced..Then again right parliamnetarians are busy with nuclear deal debate when and if this matter dies down who knows some of them might take up this issue..
suma25 Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I am sure u don't even know what is being debated here:haha: yup no idea whatsoever:D
fineleg Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I am sure u don't even know what is being debated here:haha: I dont think the rubbish was a reference to what is the main thread topic. It was, I believe, in reference to the UP and Bihar being more concerned and "the sacrificing states" compared to the rest of the scumbag states of India!
Guest dada_rocks Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 My assessment stays the person concerned has no clue over what is being discussed look back at Lruker's post u will find the answer..
PaiN_KiLLeR Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 These people do their MBBS from government colleges at highly subsidised rates so it is their responsibility to pay back. If they are not willing to help out the rural people they should have done MBBS from a private med college after coughing up lakhs of rupees.

If they are not willing to help out the rural people they should have done MBBS from a private med college after coughing up lakhs of rupees. PK, This should be stated ahead of time - so if you say from now on if you want subsidized education - you need to do this, else you need to pay premium - then new enrolling students can decide their preference at enrollment. It cannot be in the middle of studies. Watch as this middle-game-change-strategy gets kicked out in court
fineleg Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 There you go, DR... http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?NewsID=1137731 Romeo-dos backs off! Does a U-turn :two_thumbs_up: Not applicable to current students - "proposal will be evaluated" blah blah - basically protests have worked

Guest dada_rocks Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 He had apparently backed off from Venugopals case too and we all know what actually happened. Trust me this guy is determined he will get it done..
Lurker Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 He had apparently backed off from Venugopals case too and we all know what actually happened. Trust me this guy is determined he will get it done.. Issiliye kahta hoon ke faaltoo mein kyun apna khoon jalaate ho? This development has been another ace for Indian's selfishness. Had Ramadoss suggested that every Doctor would now have to study for 1 more, that extra year being the special training he/she shall receive by being sent to US/UK, do you think he would have copped the same criticism? You effing kidding me? There would be a beeline infront of US Counsellate for Medical visas. All that this recent development has done is to add another slang world to Indian dictionary - village. It was almost like being posted to an Indian village was akin to being sent to Kaala Paani. xxx
fineleg Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Lurker, If people do things out of their own volition, sure we can appreciate it. But we are not living in a slave world to force and shove things on people. In free society, people are free to choose what they want to do (ofcourse within legal realms) and what they dont want to do.

kumble_rocks Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Looks like DR mistook Toronto for an Indian village ! :D Enjoying the cozy life of a Indian village aren't you ?
Guest dada_rocks Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 What the heck is the relevance of that piece of information in this debate unless u are attempting to change the topic in ur usual style....
Lurker Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 But we are not living in a slave world to force and shove things on people. In free society' date=' people are free to choose what they want to do (ofcourse within legal realms) and what they dont want to do.[/quote'] That is as moronic a comment, no disrespect, as I hear when right wingers go all "Hey if homosexuality is allowed, people are going to start making out with Animals". Every society has rights as well as duties, and yes that includes free society too. I fail to see why you are unable to see that. If in a poor country like ours Doctors are educated at a fraction of what the actual Medical cost actually is, why is it so wrong to expect them to give a fraction of their educational stint towards the country? To put it bluntly has the rest of the country taken the theka to educate these so-called-Doctors? If Doctors, for that matter Engineers, are so much in a hurry to get away from Indian society let them shell the dough at some private Medical Institutes. I have no issues from a Manipal kind of college but from a AIIMS educated doctor yes I will expect that. xxxx

Lurker Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Okay just read something very enlightening on the subject: The MBBS fee in a government college in Tamil Nadu is Rs 4000 per year while the same in a private college amounts to Rs four lakhs. The tuition fee in AIIMS is Rs 210 per year, while it is Rs 125 in JIPMER. You have got to be kidding me here! 210 rupee per year??? Where the f*ck does that money come from if not from my taxes? AIIMS and JIPMER are two of the best institutions in our country. A comparable degree in US shall cost you atleast $ 40-50,000 per annum. No wonder Western world is happy to lap up our best Doctors and proudly proclaim, "Oh our health system runs on Indian Doctors". Why wouldnt they? They get our best Doctors for nothing! I say Govt should make a law asking Doctors to either work for 1 year in villages or simply pay their actual fees. End of debate. xxx
fineleg Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I say Govt should make a law asking Doctors to either work for 1 year in villages or simply pay their actual fees. End of debate. xxx Lurker, You are getting all worked up (against me) for nothing - as evidenced in a prior post. If you are getting worked up against the govt, then feel free to do so. I never said the above should not be done. I am ok if the Govt makes a law asking Docs to work for 1 year in village or pay the actual fees. Thats fine. State the choice clearly and upfront. The important thing is to state it at time of admission so people can then decide if they want the subsidy or if they'll pay up for it. You can't tell them in the middle of the program. Got it?
