rkt.india Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 so you are saying he hasnt got enough chances?? What chances? He came after about 2 years from injury, did well in domestic, got selected, has barely played 4.5 ODIs since his come back. last year against NZ. Played 4 tests. Was impressive in England in last 2 tests where no other Indian bowler troubled English batsmen. In Aus, very bowler got thrashed. Pitches were pancakes. Yes, he is a bit inconsistent but eh will only learn it with team, in the nets. Umesh did it. Umesh was also bowling rubbish and wayward in tests series, but worked in the nets and is bowling better. We are not a genuine fast bowling friendly country at all. We want a readymade McGrath who can bowl 150K. Even McGrath was ordinary in first first 5 tests. You dont become a McGrath overnight. We will pick a 130 bowler who can bowl line and length rather trying improve line and length of a bowler who can bowl 150K. This is what is wrong with us. This is why we dont develop good pacers.
rkt.india Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 sorry but if he gets wacked around in tests then i am afraid for his ODI prowess where his RPO is predictably well over 6.I would still have him over the likes of kulkarni because of the pitches here have favored bowlers who can extract bounce and the big grounds help too. Shami and Yadav also got whacked 5-6-7 RPO in tests. Even Johnson got whacked at 5-6 RPO in those tests. Those pitches were joke. DOnt know why only Aaron is singled out.
zep1706 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Today Pakistan again showed the value of good pace bowling on these pitches. Trundelers like Bhuvi, Binny or Kulkarni can never win a game like that. India have a good attack right now but we need a backup bowler. Aaron must replace Buvi. Really stupid decision from the team management/selectors.
Ironhide Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 Aaron would have been ace on this pitch I dont think Dhawal needs to get injured as he is part of "management" One of the squad members read Axar Binny or Bhuvi needs to get injured Isnt Bhuvi injured!?!?!? Bhuvi is already injured, even Shami had minor injury but recovered for now, so we are just riding on luck that no further injury happens. Dont know what selectors were thinking before keeping Dhawal as a backup option, Dhoni wont even ask for replacement/backup after seeing Dhawal, rather he would go with 70% fit Bhuvi or Shami. Varun Aaron should have been in the squad rather than Axar or Binny who won't get any games, if not in the squad then atleast as a backup instead of Dhawal Kulkarni.
